After researching and deliberating on a wheel for several days, I think I've almost decided between the Logitech® Driving Force™ GT and the G27.

I am definitely manual transmission all the way, but clamping the wheel and stick shift for the G27 seem cumbersome. Plus, how good is the clutch? Anyone have any opinions?

Otherwise the DGFT seems acceptable, but the potential pedal issues I've read about seem a little disconcerting.

I'm still playing GT4 on the PS2 platform until my PS2 dies, so maybe the G27 is overkill. Curious what people think.

The clutch is ok but the G27 is good for modding here is mine

Heavily Modified of course

Nice mod. I am assuming if you don't want to use the clutch there's a control to turn it off?

I've got an idea... pick up a DFGT and use the other $150 to get a second hand PS3 and a copy of GT5.

Btw, G27's clutch and gearbox isn't supported in GT4.

There is no game I know of that forces you to use the clutch. For most games the clutch pedal is an afterthought. Even with auto-clutch option off you can still shift without using the clutch in most games. Clutch will work just as good if assigned to a button.
DFGT pedals does the job. Logitech made IMO the best budget wheel of all time yet they did no improvement to the pedals. DFGT pedals are better than or at least on par with other budget wheels.

Thanks, I just searched and found a thread that mentioned the clutch not working with GT4. Good idea on saving the cash for the PS3 and GT5.

I was really leaning toward the G27 until I read that thread. Looks like my mind is made up and will get the DFGT.

Thanks for the help!
