Does anyone have the possibility of opening a dedicated server for GT5 that is open 24/7? Would be cool to have a place to go. I'm an old Live For Speed player and I miss that "Home" feeling from some servers. But the only way to create a GT5 server is a PS3 and GT5 disc I guess?

edit: Wouldnt it be possible of someone cracked the IP-address and the commands sent to the server to create a Windows program to dedicate a GT5 Server? Start hacking ;)

If someone is willing to buy a second ps3 and GT5, they could just leave it on at all times and it would act as a dedicated server.

Yes but imagine what a remote hosting service can bring in terms of bandwidth and stability. Even if you could run an app from home that doesn't tie up processing power having to run the full game just to host. Some cheating might be possible this way, though. Even with "ranked server" settings on other games, some tweaking is possible to bend the rules. I suppose that once XP/Credit rewards are instituted, this would be an issue.

Oh well, It was a nice thought. :)

I think XP/Credit reward should be ONLY for races that PD puts up, as in Prologue. Leave Open Lobby as it is.

I would love a some dedicated software server which I could run on one of my servers and pop back in later and always be the owner.

Awesome idea but PD would have to release the server-sided PC files in order for remote hosting to work.
