Defective 1977 Trans Am Pin Stripes

I noticed yesterday that some of the pin stripes that are part of the factory paint work on my 1977 Trans am have turned into kinked up telephone cords. I erased the paint and decals from it, and everything seemed to turn out fine. However, when I add specific custom decal groups to it, the pin stripes go haywire again. I've had the same decals on it virtually since day one, and only recently has this degenerating decal begun. Anyone else experiencing issues of this kind?
 
Hmm not sure if it's on metallic paint or not.

Try painting a blank primer underneath your designs. A big white square will do. Top sides back and front. Lay your Decals on top. This I allways do before painting. Seems to get rid of any glitchyness.
