OK Guys,

I posted about a week ago regarding my game play on GT6. During EVERY race, no matter what series or championship whatever, my car looses power on the last lap, with a turn or two to go. The car comes to a complete stop, and wont accelerate until I take my thumb off the gas, and press it several more times. Then, once the car decides to start moving again, it accelerates very slow. In the mean time, 99 percent of the time, the computer passes me and wins a race I had lead for 3 laps.

I use the regular controller. I have tried other ones, no dice. I have nothing else plugged into the USB ports. I have a brand new PS3, 3 weeks old. This glitch or whatever it is ruins this game completely, and renders it non playable now. I have never heard of some ish like this, my video games AI is actually cheating. Who, if anyone can I contact for some ANSWERS? Has this happened to anyone else? It did it before the most recent update, and does it now as well. I really love this game, but it's almost to the point that I will have a 60 dollar coaster. I am at the end of my rope.

That really is odd... It doesn´t happen to me or with anyone I personally knows who plays and has played GT6... I recomend you doing what @Streeto said and re-installing the game if you haven´t done so.

Try using another USB port and set it to Controller 1. If that doesn't solve the problem, then try doing what others have suggested.

I will def re-install the game. I have noticed that my controllers buttons seem very soft, even the start/select buttons only need to be lightly touched to activate them. After lots of thought and reading advise etc, I doubt it's the game. I do think its the controller. GT6 is the only game where 2 buttons are pretty much pressed the entire time, and if my controller is as sensitive as it feels, then maybe in the heat of racing my thumb is touching the square brake button. I am going to try moving the brake function to another button all together and see if that fixes my issues. If it does than I know I was inadvertently touching that brake. If it still does it, then i guess a new controller is in order. Thanks for the responses everybody.

That is weird. You could save your replay and watch the throttle and brake indicators to see if what you are suggesting is happening. Also, I might suggest switching your throttle/brake to the right analog stick or R2/l2 combo as that might solve the problem. Another plus side is that throttle control is much easier on there giving you the ability to get much faster more easily that using the X and [] buttons

I echo this. It works wonders for smoother input and control.

I always advise using the triggers for throttle and brake over using the right stick. The reason for this is that it's impossible to use the throttle and brakes at the same time with the stick. Being able to use both gives you more control over the car.

Thanks for the advise everybody. I decided to get a new controller and use the L2/R2 combo as suggested. It never even came to mind I could do that, and it really helps my lap times. Plus the overall control of my car has really improved. Mods can lock this now. Or atleast change the title, as I overacted and do not have a defective copy of GT6

Glad you found the problem! You had to spend the cash on a new controller but you also gained more control and better lap times outta the deal. :)

Had a similar problem with my wheel some time ago. Car didn't come to a stop, but I was so slow compared to others. Until a friend told me during an online race that my brakes lights were always on. Blew dust out of my pedals and everything works fine now.
