It was that ridiculous I had to jump in on that one, I'll type slower and give you a chance next time D3 LOL

Not all black Elise drivers are dirty drivers.
Some of the yellow ones are on drugs too :sly:

It's the white ones you have too watch out for Jase, that suspicious trail of white powder from the exhaust pipe leads me to believe there running on something with a high octane rating LOL

An interesting thread. In short I have nothing new to add. I will say that some issues have been slowly resolving - over the last few days I have noticed a drop in the number of Elises competing on the Suzuka track, and a much more well matched group of cars. Personally I really hope one day that I race a group of Astons, GT-R's, F40's, F430's, and Fords - from my lap times I think that would be a very keenly contested race.

The main issue is that the Elise is a much lighter car - it brakes later into corners and can carry more speed through them, and the inexperience of people driving it mean that they dont account for the longer braking distances or indeed slower cornering speeds of the other cars in the game. This is mostly because word circulated that the Elise was the best car, and as such many of the Elise drivers probably havent given much time to any of the other cars and working out how they drive and handle, and do not appreciate, or indeed don't care that they need to take this into account in order to race.

Having said that I have raced against several very gentlemanly Elise racers, of course they were faster, but because they were fair, I managed to keep one behind me for over a lap driving an F430.

The solution lies with the players for now - however I assume (hope) that there will be new game parameters set soon (like in a few days!?) with higher PP levels which will make the Elise uncompetitive - something around the 750PP level would be something I really look forward to, though I assume PD want us to wait and learn to drive before giving us something to really get our teeth into.

Personally, I'd prefer to try not to get into the path's of others which might cause a accident. At the beginning of a race, I'd prefer to be further back on the grid rather than the front as then whilst racing I can observe which drivers are the trouble makers. Thus meaning I can avoid them, or overtake them timidly when the time comes. I'm not too fussed if I get shunted to be honest, if they crash out too then all I can say is "What's the point?" it's no gain for either of the racers. Half the time they come off worse anyway.

Also, I drive a Elise online sometimes, I can't say that I'm a bad driver but I wouldn't shunt anyone. Ever.

Have you seen the movie MAD MAX? Thats how.

We don't need better car physics, we NEED machine guns and missiles on our cars! :sly:

LOL, thought you were gonna bust into 'We don't need another hero...'! :sly:

I have yet to be offered drugs by someone who wasn't black. I hate to say it, but if I see a black guy, it's fair game.

Oh no, wait, that's a ridiculous thing to say. Phew.

You should of said, 'I have yet to be offered 'good' drugs by someone who wasn't black....' :sly:

Well I have never been offered drugs, and thats a racist comment my friend.

That's not a racist statement (trust me, I've been pulled for a few). I'm black, and I never thought that for a second. Famine was merely using a social stereotype to illustrate a simple point. Of course his statement was ridiculous, he said so. You on the other hand are deadly serious.

If some maniac looks like he is going to hair-arse into the back of you, then stand aside and let him by. Guaranteed, the next couple of corners down the track, he'll be limping out of a sand trap. 👍

No, i don't think deadly serious is the right phrase, it's a game after all, i prefer to drive the car i like driving and don't mind if i don't win, but anyone i have seen driving an Elise drives like a maniac with no regard for anyone else, but thats based on my experience obviously, i can't base my comments on someone elses experiences now can I?

And I'm sorry, but anyone who bring's the colour of someones skin into a discussion about a game is taking things a wee bit too seriously.

From what I have seen, most people generally don't like the Elise for one reason or another, if you read my origional post I clearly stated that it may not always be the intention of the driver of an Elise to take people out in the brakeing zone, but after a few shunt's shouldn't they learn the lesson? It appears not, without fail, if i see an Elise in my mirror and take the racing line I'm heading for the barrier, with out fail.

It seems some of you have encountered nice Elise drivers, good for you, I however, haven't been so lucky so can only base my assumptions about them on my experience of them, you have a problem with that? Do i look bothered? lol:)

You miss the point wildly, once more.

Fact is you deny ANY Elise driver the chance to have a good race, because they're all "fair game" to you based on encounters you've had with bad ones. This is prejudice - you refuse to judge individuals on merit, instead treating them as a group based on stereotype.

You've never raced me before. If I was in a race with you and happened to drive an Elise, would you just nerf me off because I was driving an Elise?

driving defensive just wrecks the race!!!!!

Fair enough doing defensive lines for the laps last is acceptable but for a whole race is just a waste. There are plenty of ways to get by someones whos driving defensive!!! Punting them off isnt one of them

I just enjoy racing,, with myself.

You will see me, with a much slower car, at the back cruising along happily, watching those elises run away.

Punting other drivers is a sign of weakness and lack of overtaking skills. Punters beleive they own the driving lines always and have no patience to find a clean overtake. I hate playing against punters online, but there is really no way of regulating it until there are ways to have private rooms. They can bring back LAN mode and let us take care of our own network tunnelling using xlink so we can play private LAN networked games and get replays back.

Not all Elise drivers are this way. I can usually tell if they are respectable racers. I enjoy battling and searching for clean overtake. It takes patience and timing. When I'm leading, I don't intentionally block, I just hate the idea of going out of your way to allow someone to pass. Part of the excitement in racing is overtaking clean. That's the challenge. If the slower car has the line and I can't get inside or make it outside, I'll wait until there is another chance to try again.

I'm with you buddy, I got punted off at the first corner at Suzuka while in my 595 PP Brera by a tuned Evo X who had 650 PP, when I got back on track the other 2 were long gone but I found racing their lap times much more fun. I was beating them in some sectors and roughly matching their lap times over all. It was fun for me, it boosted my confidence which has been lacking in this new game :guilty:

Oh yeah I knew about that, but it could only slow them down by a couple of seconds, so my Brera couldn't be too far off their pace :sly:
