Hey guys/mods. Is there a way to delete your own posts ? i haven't seen a button anywhere when trying to edit and get an error when I delete all the text. I'm just trying to clean up my garage thread a little and am only trying to delete my own posts. I'm sure this has been answered before, but I got too many results and couldn't find anything when searching.

Thanks in advance

As of right now, no, there isn't any way a user like your me or you to do this. You could edit your post with words like "delete", "remove" etc. Moderators/admins are the only ones who can delete unneeded posts.

Hope I helped.

@ImToLegitToQuit - The issue with deleting posts is it completely throws off the flow of a thread. Example:

Person1: Post
You: Response to Person1, then later deleted
Person2: Responds to your now deleted post and no one has any clue what he's responding to.

That said, looking at your garage, short of one other person (and one that by all rights doesn't need to be there anyway), you are the only one that has posted so deleting posts wouldn't be a huge issue.

Fair enough, thanks for the responses, and that totally makes sense. I just wanted to get rid of the placeholders but i'll make it work. Thanks guys.

What about moderators? They can delete posts right? Is there any guideline on when they can or can't delete a post?

For example, Famine deletes a post of mine, gives me warning points, and at this point I don't even know what post he is talking about.

This way he could basically ban me without needing any evidence or reason. :/

Every warning automatically generates a post in the moderator resource area, with the name of the member as the post title, the name of the member of staff that issued it, a link to relevant post or profile and a link to the warning. Members who make a habit of it get their own threads, with these posts in one thread so we can see their history.

The post, of course, remains on the forum for any member of staff to see. Here's yours:

Still in the same position in the thread, with your avatar still there and the name of the moderator and the time of deletion marked. Any staff member can click "Show" and see the post - and it's directly linked from the warning post.

And you're extremely lucky that the stock point tally for inappropriate content is a mere 5 - though we can, of course, increase or decrease this at our discretion.
