Deleting lap results

Hey guys,

I was just wondering if one can delete results from practise hot lapping or from the route stage x?

If this has been posted elsewhere i apologize for the double post.

Would be rad to be able to do, as it would be nice to only have the fastest times for an individual car as opposed to multiple times on track and results for the same car with no really changes made.

is this not to delete all results? I can't seem to get that to work for single times... would be rad if it was in an update... Kaz?
 
The "Do you wish to clear all rankings?" button is definitely up there with most thoughtless design in GT. I just don't understand how this can stay in the game for so long. If a single person at PD used the practice mode more than a handful of times, they would surely realise we need another button?
 
I want a rankings section where you can see all your practice times without having to go to each individual track.
 
Yet another feature from GT4 that has been removed. Individual times are an important thing so it baffles me that PD release a test course yet don't implement the function that a past game had. That's progression for you!
 
Yup they removed the individual delete, and the other tracks only log a ridiculously low number of times, I forget how many offhand as i'm at work, 10? 12? So if you do two separate runs with the same car you are stuck with two times. Genius. Why is there a limit? Even the higher limit for Route X isn't necessary, lap times just use a few kilobytes, surely? I love GT5 but this is one of those things that is *so* baffling, you have to wonder at the thought process involved.

I think it's 10 at normal tracks, yes. I like to compare stock cars around the ring which means the first ten go on the board the rest either I have to get the notepaper out or leave them off.

I use practice constantly. I compare cars and dream what I could buy IRL :)
Practice and time trials is my way to relax after tight racing. I usually to couple of fast laps and see how it drifts, just like they do on TV.

I just do not have energy to complain about everything :)

Related to this, It would be awesome if you could change cars from race start up menu.

Agreed, such a useful little option, which has been overlooked and removed from GT5.
 
I guess its not a big deal. as turn 10 hasn't had the feature at all for the last 2 games... making me not really want to play it at all. sadly it is one of the biggest reasons i don't play forza...

Thanks for all the input guys. Maybe one day you will be able to delete lap times and have more than ten.

I don't know why they left this option out, is it that hard to implement? Or does it take so much space in your save file? It would be so useful, now I make spreadsheets for each track.

Yea it really makes me wonder as well, I doubt it takes up barely any space at all. Is this something that just gets forgotten in the process?
 
I hope PD will fix this soon in one of their updates. I really miss being able to delete a single (or a select few lap times).

I also thought about this, and I think it is almost as necessary as being able to delete single times (mainly because I found out after 2 tries that the Aventador actually had 7 gears instead of 6, and seeing as I use my G27's gear shifter, there was no way for me to know.............till I tried to stretch the gears out and saw a 7th gear :lol: ). It would also be nice if it kept track of more than 100 records, maybe 500, that would definitely be plenty, lol. I'm actually not testing any of my racecars on the speed test, mainly because I wanna put all the "normal" cars up against the Veyron and such. Racecars would kinda take up all the spots right behind the Veyron, and with only 100 spots, I'd run out of space a lot faster.
 
It certainly would be nice if we could delete single entries on those lap time boards. Also, it would also seem obligatory to have more than a top 10 board for each track so I hope PD will patch this soon.
 
I'd settle for it not noticing when you use the same car over and over testing settings.

I have several entries for certain cars because I would run the tracks, then come back with different settings and run it again. It makes a separate entry for each one sadly. I'd love to be able to delete those extras or at least it recognize it's the same car coming back.
 
Yep we need an 'individual time delete' function. Put ticks next to the lap times, then hit delete....I wish!

Sometimes I literally quit the game so a time is not logged. Drives me mad when you have more than one time for the same car. BUT there are occasions when you'd want multiple times for the same car, such as comparing standard settings against a tuned car.

Sooo, ability to manually delete individual times is needed. Please :)

Kinda agree but it would be a problem if we post a fast time using mods and then being unable to record a time with a stock setup.

Just allowing us to make a little note in a comment box next to the time such as 'stock' 'tuned' 'wet' etc would be nice

I'd like this idea to add labels/nicknames to cars without being able to change the true name of the car. It looks like it'll come in handy for some people. I think your idea will definitely help a lot of people.

I agree with all of the above. It would be the easiest fix ever.
 
This would be a great addition, just like what you could do in previous GTs. Its annoying having multiples on something like the new speed test results.
