Improved contrast ratio over the previous model and a slightly better frame. I think that's about it for the changes from the 2001FP.
I'm going to be in the market for a new monitor (sick of my 17" CRT). I'll be wanting to play half-life 2, doom 3, and probably some other FPS games in addition to my usual strategy games.
So here's the million dollar question. I bought a W3000 for the living room a while back, and I'm really happy with it.

That guy has a 25ms response time. So far that hasn't bothered me. I watch lots of fast paced DVDs on it and it looks great. Occasionally some standard-def programming will blur, usually fleshtones. But most of the time the image is perfect.
The 2007FP has a 16ms response time, but I'm going to need it to do some fast-paced gaming, not just play DVDs. So the question is, is 16ms good enough?
I plan to go visit the dell kiosk (which is usually poorly stocked) and see if the monitor can handle some FPS gaming. But I wonder if anyone here has an opinion on 16 vs. 12ms response time. I've read that all of the manufacturers measure response time differently, so maybe that question doesn't even make sense.
