Delphi’s EVE drive-by-wire show car will highlight 50 innovations that already are in regular production or soon will be. EVE stands for Engineering Vehicle Electric/Electronic. EVE is a ready-to-drive high-tech concept with a plexiglass body. Delphi designed and built its frame, engine and electrical architecture. Only the shell came from outside the company.

The car took about eight months to make

With their incorporation in the concept car, Delphi is demonstrating how individual systems are embedded in a vehicle.

EVE is steered purely by electronic means. Mechatronics and electronics are substituted for mechanical components. In addition, numerous high-voltage and high-current components are incorporated.

Its elements include a mobile digital video broadcast television, extremely flat LED light system, pyrotechnic battery disconnector and active battery manager. A “Powerline Communications” system makes it possible to connect additional electronic parts to the data network over the electrical power supply.
