Hi all,

I was trying an Evo-Gr.B engine swapped Mazda 2 on the tokyoexpress 600pp race, and it has excellent top speed (>200 mph) if you keep downforce low and has pretty good fuel economy and acceleration. However, the under steer is making this car almost undrivable in corners. Anybody has a good tune for the suspension?

Thanks!

You keyed in one clue yourself, "keep downforce low" is why the car is understeering, may either increase front downforce or add some ballast weight forward to gain traction to alleviate understeer....

I just tried the race and yes, it's possible to win with the Demio, it's not fun though.
I'm not a tuner so I only fiddled around a bit with the setup. It's far from good for sure but I survived the race at least.
Understeer is still a problem and, even more, front wheel spin. No pit stop btw. 2.13 - 2.14 laps.
The difficulty imo is how to spend PP. I for one ended up with racing brakes which is about 15 PP more vs standard brakes, so of course power needs to be reduced accordingly. Which led to a top speed of about 175 mph.
You can't beat them with speed, you need to be consistent. All in all, patience is gold here and a smooth right foot.

Thanks, this was really helpful. I replicated some of your settings and just won the race. Like you said, it's not a fun ride in the game, but I really like this little car in real life, and you can't even buy Mazda 2 in the states anymore. You can't even buy CX-3, the little SUV that built on Mazda 2 platform, here in the states either. To make things worse, you can't even buy a VW polo in the states either....

What I did in the game
  • Put all the PP in power, still have enough fuel for no pit
  • Change the top speed of transmission to 320, and I only used gear 2,3,4 for the entire race
  • I replicated your suspension setting
  • Lower the downforce of rear
  • Top speed is 185 mph
Cheers!
