So in searching this it seems to be a mystery, has anyone figured out how to change his arrows? All my bobs are down, it's affecting their driving and I can't seem to do anything to get him happy again. Resting doesn't help, winning doesn't seem to help, driving him in his personality range doesn't seem to help....if they stay down for much longer they are going to commmit suicide.

I felt that their arrows started 'drooping' (ooh-er, missus!) after several races in the same car; grinding Tsukuba 9hr overnight and while at work then the DCC in the evenings, all in the X2010. Changing to another car, nearer to opponents' specs, seemed to lift them after a couple of races.
I'm not sure what to believe about the meanings but had thought this indicated that Bob's bored or not learning from his drives when the arrows drop.
Of course this is probably totally wrong and it will most likely all turn out to be coincidental.

It's their biorhythms or something. The only solution? More racing! 💡

5 of my 6 drivers are online, and their arrows haven't changed since, and they did already do a lot of remote races...

My one driver who is offline, does have his arrow changing. Quirk maybe?

He's suffering from acute boredom. Probably needs some Zoloft. Or more racing.

Once uploaded and left online the mood is fixed. The best way to get their moods up is allot of experience point quickly.

24 hr races with 1 BOB in the x2010 or FGT always gives them the positive blue up arrow. If you get the mood positive and then put BOB online he will stay positive as long as he is left online.

The positive bob should perform better as well, netting more money from remote racing.

I'm just like your Bob's...maybe is the short game-life of GT5 and they are....bored?

I'll try that and let you know.

They have been racing online for a long time and the arrows aren't changing.

They never change once added online. A level 30+ bob needs big races to improve mood.

Does Remote Racing effect the arrows? Because I've done quite a lot of them, yet my best driver E Guevara's arrow is still pointing down...

Read my posts above.

Take E. Guavara offline, put him either an FGT or X2010 alone in the longest endurance race you have available,
. his mood will get better. Put him back online and he will stay that way.

Bob seems to hate a boring race in an overpowered car.

Putting him in a 2nd place car always seems to improve his mood for me.

Yeah I noticed the same thing, so I pulled them all offline and did some beginners races, and even when I was only using one driver I had two Bob's back to up, set them to online, and two races later the remaining 3 were all up. So once my fleet was online I haven't had a single mood swing, and the remote race payouts seem to be slightly higher, but that isn't proved.

I 'cheered up' a couple of level 40 Bobs by putting them in an Extreme B-Spec race (30 laps around Suzuka; can't remember what series that is, maybe GT?). Anyway, two races each and they're as happy as pigs in s**t!

actually i've found the easiest way is to coach the bob. If you just set it up and leave him to drive he'll get the down arrow but if you tell him to "keep the pace" or "decrease pace" he'll be getting feedback and the arrow goes blue up! I get around monitoring my bob and coaching by just spamming the enter key on a keyboard during a bob event, basically setup the race and setup "keep the pace" then plug in a usb keyboard and jam something in there to keep the enter key down and he'll be happy in no time :-)

I have read somewhere (can't remember where) that their mood go down if they drive too fast... I have been racing them in many races using the X2010. After putting them in a slower car in a few different races, they all went green again. Kinda strange but being in a slower car would make them happier. You would think race car drivers want to drive fast. However, in any case, the winning ratio is bad though as my friends have been using my Bobs to do remote racing.

Maybe if we each post what we are positive it is not, it will help figure out what it is

I doesn't have anything to do with win ratio, as I have one with 0 losses and his was down, so evidentally winning is not the only requirement.

I just did a bunch of races in which Bob won, and I was giving him constant direction, and he went down. So maybe he doesn't like it if he gets too much direction, as well as not enough?

Putting him in an overpowered car doesn't seem to help, I put him in average cars and made him have to to win the races and he still went from happy to flat to sad.

This is killing me, what the hell moves these things?

I had the same issue the past few days with my one main bob. All my other bobs were either green (sideways) or blue (upwards). Just my best driver was orange (down). I put him is second favorite car and sent him driving around a few tracks that he liked to drive on. That seemed to help cause his lap-times didn't drop as much. So I coached him a bit and that helped more but he was still down. So I tried many different cars and races; when I put him in a '66 Cobra 427 he changed from orange to green in one race. So i ran him again in a different race with the same car while coaching when he needed it. He went from green to blue after that race. He must prefer older FR cars.

Putting all your drivers in the remote race slots locks the arrows in place so they don't move. Which is critical if you want to work on one driver and not affect the others. I did that to all my drivers. I'm awaiting to see the outcome of the few hours of coaching I did to see if that helps in my remote racing; but all this is leading me to believe that the bobs have their own preference of car and track. Finding that is half of the battle. Coaching them is the other half. I have one bob who hates driving MR cars and loves driving FF cars. So picking races and cars accordingly seems to affect the arrow.

I only coached my drivers when they seemed to struggle. For example I had one bob who turned the race into destruction derby the first 30 seconds of the race. I told him to pace down and waited for the pack to thin out then I had him pick his way to first. I did that for two races. The third race I didn't say anything to see if he would do the same thing. He did what I taught him. So to much coaching could be a problem also. The only time I coached him was to keep him in his personality zone after he got into first place.

Hopefully this information helps you out. This took a few days for me to come up with.

Isn't it just like PD to put in a feature that is presumably supposed to give you some information and then tell you absolutely nothing about it?

seriously! there are so many things in b spec mode that they should of listed in the game manual. I had no idea what the arrows meant until i saw this thread

My bob kept having temper tantrums to :grumpy: So i sacked him and got him replaced :scared: Hey it's a cut throat world out there. I gave them all a team talk and told them to Shape up or Ship out. :nervous: Lol....

THIS.

It worked for me the first race I began managing him again as opposed to letting him go on auto pilot.

I've come to the conclusion it's totally random. Under coaching or over coaching, win or lose, fast car or slow car, racing or not racing none of them yields consistent results. Knowing what the arrows mean was pretty easy to find, I can't understand why PD didn't just put in there what we can do to make bob happy or tell us that we can't control it....maybe they like the mistique.
