The DeTomaso Pantera GTX is a Group 5 racing car that was used in a variety of events including the 24 Hours of LeMans. This car was entered in various events in the USA by Fantasy Racing, and driven by Vic Manuelli however it was not very successful.

If it's the former, then I kinda understand OP saying it "was not very successful."

I think it did get hit by another car as RSC says it was DNF because of an accident in that race.

To give you an idea of how unsuccessful this car was, these are the race finish positions.

Riverside 6 Hours 1981 - 42nd
Sears Point 100 Miles 1981 - 25th (Accident)
Riverside 6 Hours 1982 - 46th
Sears Point 100 Miles 1982 - 12th

That was the only events this particular car was entered in.
 
Correct, there was only one race and one race only that this car won and it was in 1978 SCCA PBIR
where it started last on grid and advanced to first position in about 6 laps. The most comparable cars running
were a few Corvettes. It was hampered by components too non race related and was not properly classed either,
but then again what car was ever capable of winning against Porsche 935's in that era? B. Stone
