Deutsch-Bonnet Type HBR Cabriolet #19, 1951

With a competition background going back as far back as 1938; and later accolades including four Mille Miglia and three Le Mans class wins, DB's (Deutsch-Bonnet's) were truly one of the leading lights of small-capacity sports-car racing in the 1950s. This particular example of their popular HBR model was delivered new to Portuguese amateur driver José Emídio da Silva, who used it to considerable effect in the eclectic blend of regularity rallies, racing, hill climbing, and rallying events which prevailed in Portugal in the early 1950s.
