Set in a parallel universe in the Devil May Cry series. The story tells of a younger Dante (voiced by Tim Phillips) in the fictitious Limbo City, a dreary city that appears calm at first, but transforms into a twisted parody of itself with demons and other monstrosities who frequently attempt to kill him whenever he is seen by the demons. During the game, Dante is frequently taunted and stalked by Mundus (portrayed in this version as a rich human-looking demon with a god complex), who seeks to have Dante killed.

So this is the new "thing". They cant think of new titles so they use the existing one and just add the current year? Example: Most Wanted (2012), Devil May Cry (2013). With that said, hopefully this DMC is better than DMC4. I liked DMC 1,2, and 3 but did not care for DMC4 at all.
 
What's that game to do with Devil May Cry? Parallesl universe my butt, the design of 'Dante' is horrible, in my opinion. You know, I had high hopes for DMC5, because the odd numbered ones seemed to be the best (1 and 3 were better than 2 and 4, I thought).

I guess Capcom just wanted to milk the DMC franchise some more. Ninja Theory probably made a random game - and adapted it a bit for the DMC badge to fit somewhat. Yuk. One of my favourite franchises, gone down the drain. DMC3 will probably stay my favourite for another couple of years.
 
It's what they like to call "a new IP". Sure they borrow names and all but it's geared towards people who never played the original games. And the same way Tomb Raider is geared towards straight people, this game is geared towards gays. Bonus if you're emo.
