Hey people,
My logitech DFGT is dead now. When I had to make a huge correction to prevend my car from crashing, FF stopped giving feedback tot the left. When I tried it the next day FF didn't do anything anymore. Later that day it wouldn't even recognise steering movements. I opened it up and I think the circuit board broke.
After just a year of useage this happend. I bought the wheel earlier but I didn't use it till march 2012. So I don't have warranty any more.
I have seen stories on the internet with people having the same problem and had warrenty replacements up to 5 times.
Since my wheel dead after just a year of useage my question is should I buy a DFGT again or a G27? I use it quite a lot in GT5 and really loved my dfgt.
I was only very disapointed with the durability. I didn't really have problems with the sound.
Will the g27 last longer, anyways?

Ahem Fanatec ahem. But if you don't want a Fanatec get the G27. The G27 is a solid wheel I've never heard anyone say a bad thing about it. I strongly recommend Fanatec as I own the Porsche GT3 RS V2 belt driven so its very quiet they have a deal going on where you can get the wheel, the shifters, and CSR Elite pedals for $260.

Thanks for the replies!
Fanatec is too expensive for me.
I find 270 euros for a g27 a lot of money already.
That's more than I've payed for my PS3.
But if it's much more reliable than a DFGT it's worth it in my opinion.
I was really disapointed with the DFGT durability and there are more stories like mine if you search over the internet.

But more replies are welcome!

I just got a email that the g27 is now ready for shipping. Hopefully it will be here soon. Does anyone know how long it will take to arrive over here in the Netherlands?

Yes. ;)
I had registered my old DFGT so I got a 10 percent discount.

FYI: I used Standard shipping with UPS.

Usually you have choice of shipping something like 1 day or 2 day and normal shipping. If you just chose normal shipping it would take 3-5 days through our mail I don't know about yours.

It depends Where you order it from djslofstra.

It has arrived in Holland at 5.57 A.M. and now it is in Utrecht (arrived at 8.11 P.M., now departure scan)
So I have a little hope that it will arrive tomorrow.

EDIT: Now I see that UPS says it will arrive tomorrow (thuesday) at the end of the day. :D
I can't wait.

EDIT 2: It arrived in Amsterdam for a Arrival scan at 10.00 P.M.

Yes I did. :D
It is now in Drachten out for delivery (6.45 A.M.). That's around 20 kilometers from my home.
Please can I pick it up? :D :D :D

But I use a desk for my steering wheel. Does anybody know a good place to keep my gearshifter?

It arrived! I can't believe how smooth it is. I have to learn how to handle the hard brake padle though. And sometimes I use the clutch in stead of brake. I love it though!

just put it next to the steering wheel with a gap about 6 Inches between the wheel and the gear shifter but it is up to you how far you want away from the wheel.

Used a DFGT extensively for 3 years without a problem but I never drove the X1 with it nor did any drifting.

Upgraded to a G27 last Christmas and just exchanged it for a new one. Had a problem with the wheel going off centre after a lap or two. At the end of a 5 lap race I'd often be more than 90 degrees off centre. Apparently it's a fairly common problem. Happened to one other guy I race with too.

Yeah I drift most of the time with it. I don't have a centre problem luckily. I drifted around twenty laps with it yesterday and didn't notice any problems.

I'm starting to get more familiar with the brake pedal and don't use the clutch in stead of brakes very often any more. But hell it's damn smooth. So silent and you can't even feel the gears. What a nice steering wheel. The faster force feedback aked also any familiarization but now I love it.

I am glad you like it once you get use to it you will get better lap times.
