I have had a DFGT for a year and a bit and must have logged a good few hundred hours on it between myself and my friends. It has been passed around and carried to and from other peoples houses regularly so it hasn't had exactly the easiest of life.
A couple of weeks ago when I plugged it in to the PS3 - after already connecting the pedal set and power adapter as usual - the GT logo in the middle of the wheel just flickered instead of going solid and the wheel did not initiate.
I initially thought it might be the AC adapter so I tested this and found it to be delivering the correct power. Even so I tried a different adapter and still the same flickering. I then tried playing with the USB cable itself and eventually after a few tries and some repositioning of the cable the wheel started working again as usual.
Until today.
Today it did the same flickering, I once again tried fiddling with the wires but this time to no avail. I had a quick look inside and all the connections seem good and there is no obvious damage just a quiet ticking noise that is timed in line with the flashing of the light. The only thing that looked off was the brushed motor with quite a lot of black residue on the casing and areas around the motor itself.
I will speak to Logitech in the morning and see what they can do but I don't fancy spending a few weeks without a wheel waiting for them to service it.
Has anyone else had the same issue and found a resolution?
Thanks.
