just ask
I have had a DFGT for a year and a bit and must have logged a good few hundred hours on it between myself and my friends. It has been passed around and carried to and from other peoples houses regularly so it hasn't had exactly the easiest of life.

A couple of weeks ago when I plugged it in to the PS3 - after already connecting the pedal set and power adapter as usual - the GT logo in the middle of the wheel just flickered instead of going solid and the wheel did not initiate.

I initially thought it might be the AC adapter so I tested this and found it to be delivering the correct power. Even so I tried a different adapter and still the same flickering. I then tried playing with the USB cable itself and eventually after a few tries and some repositioning of the cable the wheel started working again as usual.

Until today.

Today it did the same flickering, I once again tried fiddling with the wires but this time to no avail. I had a quick look inside and all the connections seem good and there is no obvious damage just a quiet ticking noise that is timed in line with the flashing of the light. The only thing that looked off was the brushed motor with quite a lot of black residue on the casing and areas around the motor itself.

I will speak to Logitech in the morning and see what they can do but I don't fancy spending a few weeks without a wheel waiting for them to service it.

Has anyone else had the same issue and found a resolution?

Thanks. :)

If anyone cares:

Logitech are investigating the issue. So far their helpdesk has been very helpful and responsive.

Nice one Logitech.

Good to hear that they treat us gamers well. I have dealt with them in the past concerning some PC gear and they have always been very good to me.

I had pretty much the same problem with my first dfgt. The ffb would cut out randomly and the gt light just flickered faintly.

I got on to Logitech and they just told me told to get a refund from amazon and they'd give me a discount on a new wheel that matched the original price I paid. 👍

Yes they have been very helpful and very prompt as well I must say.

This was the original route Logitech wanted me to take however the e-tailer I got my wheel from is no longer trading. They couldn't accept my email confirmation from them as proof or purchase and instead requested photographs of the wheel with a handwritten note showing the Logitech incident number (from my help request) which I provided.

They are now in the process of arranging a return note for me to ship the DFGT back to them FOC.

Great service so far! :)

Wow.

Just had news from Logitech that they are sending out a return label and on receipt of my broken kit they will send out a new, warranty replacement!

The only thing I need to do is package it up and get it to the post office.

In this day and age with customer service as it is I cannot say enough good things about the way Logitech have dealt with my enquiries. Their responses have been timely, relevant, come from a human being and are ultimately pretty generous.

The turn around time could be as much as 3 weeks but when it is a FOC warranty replacement I really won't complain!

Thanks Logitech. Awesome service. I shall definately be sticking with your products in the future. :)

Hey I thought it would be cool if we can switch the GT logo to be flickering (with all other functions are normal)... Just an idea :D
