dfgt gear stick mod

hi guys, just wondering if this would work out,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3XJ0Le7JcE this guy cut the side off of his dfgt and extended the cable so his shifter was where he would like it to be, but what i was wondering is could you put a custom h-shifter on instead for gt5 ps3 ???

any thoughts would be great

YES and yes but the h-shift wouldnt work as a h-shift it would just be 2 switches doubled up in series check my thread i have done it https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=268992 but not the H-Shift

You could, but you'd have to use a microprocessor to translate the gear position into the relevant number of up/down shifts, and even then you risk desyncing the gear position with the in-game gear, if you tried to shift into sixth in a five speed car it would then be one gear out, nothing you can do about that besides make it shift all the way down and back up again for each gear which would slow down every shift. Also neutral won't work. But in theory you can do it, it would be much easier to get a G27 though.

I thought about doing this when I was using my DFP but in the end I just gave in and upgraded!

You can't use a modded DFGT H-shifter with the PS3. The only way you'll get it to work is if you use the same number of microswitches, i.e. 2, leaving you only a button for upshift and downshift.

thanks for all the comment guys, i would upgrade my wheel but got my baby daughter so have to make do with what i got for now lol, maybe if im nice to the misses she will get me one with xmas just being round the corner
