What am I doing wrong? I cant drive a straight line with this thing? Just got it yesterday and i Hate hate hate the way it steers me. with my DS3 I bronzed all the vettel challenges but with this thing so far I can't complete a lap. It feels nothing like driving in real life. is there some setting I have wrong? do you have to calibrate it?

It takes a while to get used to, especially if you've been using controllers for driving games. You can play around with the wheel settings in the menu and see if it helps any.

I'm also having some trouble with the DFGT! I borrowed one off a friend and I'm still 5 seconds off my controller times.

I'm guessing practice is the key.

The DFGT has a tiny dead zone, you just have to keep pounding around with it so you can find the middle without difficulty.

It definitely doesn't feel like driving a real car. But it does work much better than a controller once you get used to it. Keep at it and you'll figure it out.

I had the same exact thoughts the first time I hooked mine up. Fortunately I caught on within an hour or so. Couldn't imagine playing a driving game with a controller again now.

Agreed. The dead zone is there, just need to find it.

Pardon my panic post just got incredibly frustrated. I like the way i could lean back and relax and play at my best. now it seems a very srious undertaking and may have ruined the game for me. At any rate, my issue isnt cornering. My issue is that I can't recenter the wheel or drive a straight line. the feedback counter steers till I spin trying to counter it. Also, how do you go in reverse with a dfgt? I think that would help :)

Reverse = triangle button.

The best thing to do while driving in a straight line with it, is to not try to counter act every movement it makes. Simply hold it straight, you wont break it.

It's very important to make sure the wheel is mounted properly (i.e. 100% stable), and it's in a comfortable position when you're using it - this goes for the pedals as well. This is one of the most overlooked aspects when getting a wheel.

Once that's taken care of, it's all down to practice, practice, practice.

Two things.

Turn the force feed back up to 8 or higher.

Bungee cord mod for the gas and brake.

This will make a world of difference I promise.
