Fellas I have brought my boy the DFGT Pro wheel but hes having real trouble with it, as in to turn a bend we are having to turn the wheel at least one full rotation if not more on some bends and his little arms just cant get it round quicker enough, is there a way to adjust the lock? is it possible to match it to the lock of the wheel you see when your driving in cockpit mode as that only goes about half way round to our full lock?

or even set it to match that of a real car ?

The poor blighter is ripping his shoulders out at the moment and its really spoiling the wheel use for him

Any help please guys would be appreciated
Cheers
Andy

Hi Andy,

unfortunately not.

Struggled similarly once I got the DFGT for christmas ('how am I supposed to catch that car if I can't go full lock quickly enough?').

Honestly, it just took one or two days to get adjusted; main point being to sit properly (not the relaxed, almost straight-arm approach I have in my regular car) to be able to 240 degrees of steering without going hand-over-hand. That way I can pretty much catch the car whenever it's going sideways.

(But I couldn't drift with the wheel for the life of me).

Ar that's a shame, the poor sod is trying so hard but just cant as you say catch it in time , guess we will have to stick with it and try

Thanks for answering

In my experience, if anyone is feeling the need to turn the wheel so much that they need to "shuffle steer" or twist their arms as though they were spaghetti it's because they are trying to corner too fast. It was apparent to me when my girlfriend first started using the wheel.

As far as I can tell, the steering lock is automatically adjusted on the wheel. My justification for this is when trying either of the Ferrari F1 cars or a kart you have to be really careful with how much lock you apply. A quarter of a turn in those vehicles = as much steering as you need.

I think because the wheel doesn't [/i]physically[/i] stop when it reaches maximum lock for that vehicle, people think they haven't reached it when in fact they have.

In summary.... follow textbook racing procedures - slow in, fast out etc. My girlfriend has become tons better by driving corners at an appropriate speed - being smooth has got her faster laptimes despite her initial instinct being to just "go for it".

Yes I think your right, I also think that what you have said is apparent when he or I lose it we just can not catch the slide in time, proberly because we are over the lock limit I just wish there was a way to adjust the lock.

Not to worry like all things we will have to work at it in order to get better 👍

My settings are exactly the same except I have feedback at around 7 or 8. Gives me enough information to know what is going on without turning into an armwrestling contest. The exception being an X2010 when I turn it off completely, sounds like the gearing inside is going to break otherwise, lol.
