ask, and i will tell
I currently own a DFP, I know, so old fashioned. I recently slightly broke the shifter. I think a plastic piece or something got down in the shifter and a couple days ago it popped. So now when I up shift you barely have to touch it. So with that I really need a new wheel and don't wanna blow all my money. I know there is a g27 on amazon for pretty cheap. I've seen the price go as low as $209. Now on the cheaper side we have the DFGT at $150 with more in game features apart from the H pattern shifter. I'm getting to the point where a new wheel would add a lot more to the game.

G27: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001NT9TK4/?tag=gtplanet-20

DFGT: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/gaming/wheels/devices/4172

So I leave it to you! Which should I invest on? Or not invest in either and go Fanatec.

NOTE: My dad is willing to buy with me. So if we do go Fanatec, it can be a little expensive.

I am satisfied with my dfgt as is but i am not sure if the g27 doesn't have the ff feature( force feedback) but if it doesn't I would go with the g27 and not the DFGT

If you're on budget, buy a Fanatec CSR, it's a great wheel. In my opinion beter than a G25/G27

If you're thinking about making a "long term" investment, buy a CSR Elite with clubsports. You WILL love it.:)

Do not underestimated the difference the pedals make.

I can still rember i had a G25 and upgraded to a Fanatec Porsche wheel Turbo S. I was fully satisfied with my G25, but i still wanted to upgrade.

The PWTS came with a adapter so i should still be able use the G25 pedals, but they did not work. After receiving a few (faulty) adapters from fanatec, they gave me a discount on the Clubsport Pedals, so i ordered them 2 1/2 years ago.

I still believe that was the best purchase i ever made

If the sky is the limit, wait for the Fanatec CSW

G27 all the way, better than DFGT everywhere, especially if you consider the build quality, the separate H-pattern shifter (DFGT hasn't got one, only sequential attached to the wheel) and much better pedals including the clutch pedal which DFGT pedals are missing.

I agree with HoiHman that there might be better alternatives and Fanatec CSR is a good one. However if do not play much Forza then I'm not sure that you'd want to spend more on CSR wheel when G27 is a great wheel for GT5 and PC gaming.

Thanks for replies! I'm still gonna let this thread go for a while but what about the Fanatec GT2 wheel? Because most of the time in gt5 I'm driving street cars and not race cars which I think the CSR wheel feels like with it's shape.

Again it's all personal preference, but i would still go for the CSR.

I think the FFB is better with the CSR, but the GT2 has a better quality rim

My PWTS broke down after 1 year and 11 months. Fanatec offered me a GT2 as a replacement, i asked for a CSR instead.

CSR utilizes newer electronics, has ACL (Automatic Clutch) for Forza, it has adjustable FFB (Force Feedback), Sensitivity etc., which you cannot ajust in wheels from Logitech.

Also Fanatec will be supporting CSR with newer firmwares which also means better support for the future and current racing titles.

Go CSR if you have doubts about G27 and DFGT.
