I have a bad switch behind the left paddle shift button. It is more of a button that is pushed in rather than a switch. It has a yellow top on it and it is gone.

Does anyone know how to access this area to replace this button. If so what part would you use to replace it with. Thanks for any help.

First try the wheel on a PC to see if the (switch) is maybe sticking some. On a PC you should have a picture of the wheel with lights that go on/off when each button is pressed. If it sometimes works it might just need cleaning. Use some PC cleaner (dust remover) and spray around it real good before taking it apart and you might get it working again without taking it apart. Unplug wheel first.

No it is not that. I know for a fact the button is damaged. I screwed it up fiddling with it. It was double shifting prior to my tinkering. The whole top of it is gone, busted, broke.

I need to know what to replace it with. Also how to take apart the wheel to access it. There is a little tab on the back of the paddle that makes contact with the button. Everything is good with the paddle it is just the button that needs replaced.

Come on people this vast plethora of knowledge and not a single hint? Help an brother out, please!

I've got the same problem on mine, with BOTH shifters. Anybody know where to find a replacement for this button? They are the two yellow ones on the circuit board. It should be pretty simple to unsolder the existing buttons and solder some new ones in. Would be a shame to junk a great wheel just because of this.

Hey Marc, time to get the TM500RS. So are you back from Auzzie land?

You can try Allied Electronics, something like http://www.alliedelec.com/search/productdetail.aspx?SKU=8211573, you'll need to know more like the dimensions of the switch and mounting holes to find something that works. You're looking for a pc board mounted switch. Good hunting.
