Hi guys,

I have a DFGT and I was wondering, is it possible to wire up a real tachometer or boost meter to the DFGT?

Sure the meters might not work as they should, but as long as they light up, I'll be a happy camper :)

Cheers!

As far as I know none of that data is output to the DFGT, so I don't see how you could. Might be possible with the G27, as it has shift lights, so some RPM data must be going to the wheel.

what if I want the meter to just light up and not move?
For aesthetic purpose only... would it be possible?

Couldn't you rig the dials up separately to a 9v battery? Are you going to make some kind of cockpit with a dashboard then? It'd look cool with lit up dials, but as the above posts have said, it's not really possible to use the DFGT's power supply to light them up without a serious amount of modding to the power brick.

^Let us know how it works because the the G27's shifter light goes from green, yellow, and then red. My guess is it will be on all the time unless the lights have all seperate power supplies to let you hook it up to one of the colors.

yeah it will be the red ill be tapping into.. nothing else... The shifter will sit on the outer shell of the steering wheel

This was what I was thinking, but would 9V be enough to power the gauge?

I would assume it would require a 12v connection as that's what cars use, have you already purchased the gauges?

you could make them all work if its on the PC I am sure symprojects had a new invention in the pipeline that would allow you to run a hole set of dials, speed, RPM, Boost, Oil temp the lot but I do not know how long it will be until it is released.

If your doing it just for ps3 games ul never get it to work, But if you just want the light to light up and have the gauge for show then you should just be able to tap into the 12v power supply for the G25 its no differnt to how you would hook up the power to the gauge in a real car.
