DFGT Real-time adjustment not working?

In online races, I've been trying to use the little red adjuster, but the menu is just translucent and greyed out. I think it might be the fact that the ASM was set to "Prohibited" in the lobby options. But this is sort of gamebreaking for me since I can't adjust my brake balance or ABS level. Is anyone else experiencing this?
 
It's never worked in online races. PD have it disabled for some reason.

Unless I'm misremembering, it did work online early on with the DFGT, but when they activated it in the control mapping it was disabled in online play. :boggled:
