Hi all,

this is aimed at people who have used both wheels, is there a precision difference between the DFGT and G series wheels? I just cant seem to match the throttle positions are steering with the top 10 runners on the new TTs. Im currently 1.4secs off number 1, i only have around 0.5 left to give with this wheel. Is it worth upgrading?

I own both, plus the FanatecGT2.

To answer your question: both are 900 degrees wheels of course, and I never noticed myself having less precision with my DFGT than my G25. However, making fast movements can be more difficult on the DFGT since the motor is less good and can get in the way. Also pedal nuance is poor on the DFGT, the G25 pedals give you considerably more accuracy.

So I can believe you would suffer from the DFGT on some car with heavy oversteer, correcting too slow. Or throttle/brake nuance. But accuracy of steering really shouldn't be a problem.

As skazz says both are 900 degree wheels but the differences in sensitivity and feedback are both subtle and profound. For instance, disconnect both from power and USB and spin one wheel and then the other. My DFGT sounds like it's about to take off over the everglades in this condition. The G27? Don't hear more than a slight whir.

I used a DFGT for over a year playing GT5 and lusted after a G27 since last summer. Bit the bullet in January this year and bought one. Combined with moving my driving position to within 6 feet of my TV and a heavier platform to mount the wheel to, my steering inputs, braking and throttle responses are all more precise and things that would have me off track or spinning out with the DFGT do not result the same with the G27. The addition of the paddle shifters being actually long enough to reach when hands are not at 9 and 3 or 10 and 2 is so much better than the tiny buttons the DFGT has.

While I may not be the best judge, I feel my driving has improved with the G27. The only way to improve the experience now is to get a full on cockpit and triples setup.
