Hey folks...

This problem really bothering me, basically the in-game cockpit steering wheel has a huge delay compared to what my Logitech wheel is doing, is there a way of fixing or at least minimizing the delay?

My TV is Samsung 8000 55" LED, the game mode does not make any noticeable difference, well maybe it's a little better, but could be placebo, not sure!

Thanks :)

See the video!

You might try to increase or decrease you steering sensitivity depending the results but honestly for the most part there probably isn't much you can do about it? I know mine does not lag as far as actual game play goes (car turns when I turn the wheel) but a lot of cars especial the Le Mans cars, X1, formula GT, F2010 and even some factory BMW and more, have a turn radius on the steering wheel of 720 degree, 360 degree or even 240 degree where as the DFGT has a turn radius of 900 degrees no matter what.. So using the steering sensitivity adjustment should make the wheel on screen and the wheel in your hand match on sub-1995 production cars.. Hope this clears things up for you!

Thanks, can you please tell me where i can find these sensitivity adjustments, i looked everywhere, PS3 settings, GT5 settings, i can't find it...

This used to happen with my G27 but one of the recent patches fixed it and now they turn together. I doubt if any setting changes will affect this issue.

I connect my PS3 to the TV using an HDMI cable and use game mode on my TV. You might double check your PS3 display settings to make sure you are using the correct output settings.

There is no steering sensitivity adjustment for the DFGT. The one that is available that goes from -2 to +7, is only for the DS3. Also, that Amateur/Pro/Simulation setting in the Options menu, does not apply to the DFGT either, although some people think it does. What you have is what you get. I don't use the cockpit view, but in terms of turning the wheel and a slight lag in what happens with the car, I've noticed that from day 1 with my DFGT and just drive around it.

So, which wheel does support all the sensitivity settings?

Hey I would have replied but I fell asleep last night, I believe the Thrustmaster 500 can be set correctly with all settings.. But to answer your question about the steering sensitivity it's on the List of driving aids right below the ABS setting before u enter a race

The DFGT has Force Feedback settings that can be changed. That won't affect your problem though.

As for the delay, my guess is that it happens, because the steering animation doesn't show the wheel turning as much as 900 degrees. It's more like 90ish degrees.

That's for the controller. If you set it higher, the car will steer quicker when you use a controller.

Not sure, I only have the DFGT. It may have come up somewhere and a search might find it, if not, start a thread. I'm kind of curious myself.👍

I think there may be an animation delay, but I can safely say that in my case there is absolutely no steering delay with GT5, especially in comparison to games like shift.

Only thought it was the old DFP that was able to change the wheel degree.

Shouldn't this make the ai steering wheel in the car turn faster or slower also?

There is a latency that runs from your DFGT into your PS3, processed and then sent into the TV to be animated. That is what you are seeing. It becomes almost instantaneous on an old CRT. Unless you play on an older TV it's not going to go away. I play on 55" too sometimes.

Yeah, i certainly understand the concept, but some users reporting with absolutely no delay/lag with similar sets, that's what's confusing!

I just tried it, and it didn't make a difference.

Sputnik, check if it's as bad in a Murcielago 640. The view is much closer up to the steering wheel.

I didn't get a delay. There was a barely noticeable "delay", but only from the fact that the animation isn't a full 900 degrees like the DFGT.

Also, check to see if the downshifting animation is delayed. It shouldn't be. Go from a high gear and fully brake and downshift like you're supposed to.

I would say it's input lag because of the TV. It's hard to find a larger TV these days without input lag. It's the reason I haven't bought an LCD TV yet. I bet if you hooked your PS3 up to a PC monitor you wouldn't have a problem. This is why I wish there was a VGA option for the PS3 like the XBOX. If you could use the VGA input on your TV, you wouldn't have any lag as far as I know. I just read some articles saying that the 8000 has horrible gaming lag so I would say the TV is definitely your problem. Google the model name and input lag and you'll see tons of complaints.
