DFP button problem

Hello, I recently bought a DFP, It has been working great but I think I found a problem; Sometimes, the X button stops working, I found this while trying to exit a pause menu, while turning the wheel to the left or right.

I've been able to make the button stop working by turning the wheel even on the menus but the square and triangle button don't appear to be affected.

Is this normal? could it be software related? I currently only own GT3 so I'm not sure if the wheel is defective.
