One of the connector pins in the 7 pin plug (which goes from the DFP wheel itself to the pedal box) has snapped. The pedals are now useless and it will be nearly impossible to get the pin back in :grumpy: .

Is the DFGT cable from wheel to pedal box the same?

How can I fix the issue?

Bump ..

I'm sure there is a solution, just I don't know what 👎

Hopefully someone has gone through this issue before:nervous:

You could hardwire the wire from the peddles to the steering wheel . You could do it or have a pc shop do it for a small fee . On a scale 1 to 10 I would say its a 5 DIY job .

Hi,
I made my own custom pedal set for the DFP, so i have drawings of all pins wiring.

I would suggest cutting off the male db9 connector which is damaged. Then solder a new one. It's the same connector we used to have on computers (serial port). I will put my drawings on this discussion later on today so you'll have all the wiring/cable colors and pins matching.

-The easy way, if you're not a soldering fan ;), cut a serial cable, find out using a multimeter what pin goes to what wire in this cable, and put the good wires together with your pedals wires, by turning cables together 2 by 2, and isolate them using duct tape.(nasty, but easy ;) )

Here is the wiring (pinout diagram) I made for you from my drawings.

Thanks for the above solution, i'll try and give it a go 👍

However my socket has 7 pins , not the 9 above

It has 3 pins on top, 4 pins on the bottom

But thanks so much :dopey:

Yes, u need to rip off pin1 and5 from the serial db9 connector, because the female db9 from the wheel base has holes 1 and 5 filled with plastic. We are talking about exactly the same wiring here :)
