DFP steering wheel

Hey everybody what's up? I've been drifting on gt4 for awhile now, and i've gotten pretty good, but today that all ended when i bought the DFP steering wheel. I've seen team fbi, and other people drift amazingly well with the wheel, but i can't drift with it at all. I usually drift with the controller, and just push up on the left joystick and roll it around kinda like a steering wheel, and that works fine for me. But this steering wheel is driving me crazy. Just when i get set up for the drift, it seems like the wheel wants to snap back, and i spin out. Can anybody give me some advice?

Thanks.

Practice!

The wheel is very different from the controller, so it takes practice.

This is what I am getting as your main problem: You are in a drift and then suddenly the car spins to the outside (ex.: if you're in a left turn drift, it goes headfirst to the right)

If I understand what you say correctly, you are experiencing snap oversteer, which causes spins. This means that you have too much countersteer for your drift angle, and the front wheels are gripping, thus sending you spinning off the track. Simple fix really, practice finding the optimal amount of countersteer needed to help keep your drift.

Try doing rallies with the wheel first, the lower amount of grip will help you adjust to spinning a wheel.

Also- use the search function to help you find DFP related threads.

Yea it's way different from the controller. I've been abl;e to pull off little drifts, but nothing big. I've read the DFP settings thread, and have gotten some good advice from that. I'll just keep practicing. I'm sure i'll get it down soon.

That helps a lil bit. I'll just have to practice like i did when first started. It took me a long time to get used to pushing up on the left joystick, and rolling it around. I eventually got it down, and i'll get this down too. My main problem is i'm either to quick, or to slow with my countersteer, and i spin out.
