DFP - tracking problem

Okay, so I've had my DFP about two years now. Recently, I've had problems with tracking. If I turn the wheel aggressively (which I NEED to do - especially during drifting) it kind of "de-centres", meaning the wheel is not level with the direction of travel - "leaning" to one side. If I do it in the opposite direction it goes back, but that means I have to pull over to the side of the road and flick the wheel many times to get it centred again... one time, during a drift session in the Blitz Skyline in GT4, I came out of a corner and had to hold the wheel at a quarter turn to keep the car straight!

Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas how to fix it? This wheel cannot fail... when I get GT5 & a PS3, I'm going to have to use this wheel until I can get a G25... I plan to race online with you guys (:D), so I can't be pulling to the side of the road and stopping during the heat of battle.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks 👍
