While I am by no means new to GT, I am new to the concept of drifting with it.. I only recently learned of this Vehicular Art-form.

My question is this, since I am just starting out and I have only a few books and a DVD; "the Drift Bible" to guide me. Would I be better off practicing with the DS2 controller or the DFP Wheel?

I like the feel of the steering wheel and pedals only because its more natural to me.. But if the controller is easier to drift with then I could go that route.. I just don't want to start practicing with one if it's just going to mess me up..

So if anyone has any suggestions, I could really use them.. Right now my drifts look like something they show in a blooper real.. Seriously guys and girls I SUCK!! :guilty: :dunce:

I know its practice that I need to get better, I just want to make sure that what i am using to practice is going to help me, and that I am not practicing the wrong things...

Thanks for any help you can offer me... 👍

hey...well it looks like you got ur hands on some good teaching material there.... i have no experience with the DFP....and have been using the DS2 for drifting since back in the GT3 days.. haha. some people just get used to the controller and would prefer sticking with it because 1) they dont wanna spend $150 for the DFP (like me) 2) they are good drifting with the DS2 and 3) ... ummm DS2 ROCKS!!! but i would say if you have the DFP... why not use it for drifting... it has many advantages.. and you already spent the money on it!! why not use it!! either way.. i would probably stick with the DFP because you said you were already comfortable with it.... so just keep at it... good luck...

If you want to casually drift or are low on cash, I'd stick with a DS2. If you want to be the master of all and are loaded go the DFP. Simple.

Actually I got the DFP back in September when it came out in stores here in CT. I love it and it's really easy for me to use.

I will just keep at it with the wheel then, and I just finished watching the Drift Bible DVD.. It was really good and the best part is that it gave me some suggestions on how to setup a car with "Actual" specs. I can use the specs in GT4 to give it a shot...

I have my PS2 and my DFP setup right now and I am about to go hit the track as soon as I am done here... Well, I guess practice makes perfect right?? I can't expect to wake up one morning and be an expert... So off to practice I go..

Thanks guys for the help.. Who knows maybe soon I can stop posting crash pictures and start posting some HOT drift videos...

Ok, so there's this mode in the GT games called Endurance, this is the advice I have to offer you. Drifting will be tough at times, and and rough during the rest, but it's worth it. So stick with it (ie ~ Endurance) and don't give up. :dopey:

Best of luck,

Well... Once my website Server finishes their monthly maintenance.. I can upload my Very first Drift Video!!!

It's only 1 lap but it's still pretty cool.. At least I think it is, will find out what you guys think when I get it posted...

I took me a while to get my Drift Monster tuned and then some time to get the feel for it.. I am working on it, but It seems to be coming along okay..

Well, like I said once the web site is available, I will post it..

they should of made the DFP with a seperate shifter, e-brake and reverse button.

try using the DFP just for steering and ds2 for everything else...I put the DS2 sideways next to my right leg. It took some practice to get used to it but to me its easyier

Try it out....

lets see: DS2 - $30aus or comes free with PS2. DFP - $289aus! you can do everything with both. the wheel would be more life like but hey I havnt got a car and I cant drive so I dont care right now. If you enjoy driving your car and dont find it a chore to drive down the shops and pick up some bread the nI would say you will get the most out of your DFP but if your not that involved in driving then your going to absent mindedly get caught for speeding or taking the racing line on a motorway lol I just use a DS2 btu I may get a wheel later on

LOL!! I don't agree with you completely, but that was one funny statement.

I have a DFP, got it recenlty, and I'm working on drifting...

Even if its like learning all over again, its added quite a bit of enjoyment to the game. I say go with that all the way...

And D3... stop posting worthless crap like you seem to do alot of... it contributes nothing but spam...
