Got this on AIM a few minutes ago, just wondering what the consensus reaction would be:

Platinum Gamers is a forum about gaming in a general but it mostly a big community were we talk about anything you can imagine. Currently its on the vergde of being closed down. He's trying to exploit GTPlanet's member database by contacting those who have entered their AOL screen name in their profile, abusing our profile system.

That's pretty cheap of him, especially since you're quite open to people promoting their sites (like the wonderful giles-guthrie.com :D ) here on GTP.

I got an IM from troy yesterday, but then when I saw a post from troy somewhere at GTP, it said he was 'Banned'. So from then on I haven't been planning on joining.

I'll stick with GTP :)
 
i had a look one day, platinum gamers is a bandwidth sucking site. wouldnt recomend it. whats it got that GTP doesnt?
 
Its a rip off of GTP. I'd rather stay with :gtp:. :D But since some people wont let me just be on here without being bother I might just quit both of these sites. Although I'd rather not quit GTP!

I feel bad to now. I didn't know Troy was doing this. I don't want anything to do with it now.
 
Whoops. Didn't realize this would cause much of a problem neither did I realize it would be spotted "abusing our profile system" I was just attempting to get more people to join. I felt asking a favor was alright, but apparently not. So I'm sorry. Won't happen again.

Just because troy might've done something a bit wrong, doesn't mean PG sucks, nor does it mean you should spam, nor does it mean you should hate it with all your guts.

I thought you people were better than that. Oh well. I see most aren't.
