i spent quite a lot of time grinding the k car seaonal. Ive brought quite a few cars from the ocd , most notable being the gt 40. It cost ten million!!! its good but not THAT good. also the historic car championship has cars that are much faster. i think i should have got the f2007 :guilty:

Also i bought the panoz esperante. This thing looks crazy , the front of it reminds me of a plane! i took it on some tracks and found it was great in a straight line , but like most american cars , is terrible around corners. More money down the drain. :dunce:

Considering you can win the GT40 twice, it was quite a waste. The Panoz is up to you. But I think it's worth buying.

F2007 is useless because you can't race it online unless it's one make, the GT40 is only good if you want every car in the game, and as previously mentioned, you win it, but at least you payed 10mil not the full 20mil.

Whatever happened to just driving a car around a track for the fun of it? :)

The GT40 is a good car, but you have to remember it's old technology and it's an LM car. The Chapparal and Toyota 7 were designed for Group 7 racing (basically the Formula 1 of closed wheel racing) so have high downforce and weigh very little.

It's a nice car.., but as others have mentioned.., you can win it. Personally I think the car in general is considerably overpriced at the normal rate of 20 mil.

+1 👍👍

I love my GT40, sounds awesome too, I have never raced it though, I just like to drive it round Le Mans.

I can probably count on my hands how many cars I have actually "used" in this game, but I have driven hundreds:)

I remember entering the Indy500 in my GT40 Racer once...I thought I was still in my PDF1..:dopey: :ouch:

You should have bought the Mazda 787B or a Standard Le Mans car, like the Bentley Speed 8 or one of the Pescarolos. I just bought BMW V12 LMR and its great. The GT40 is not suitable for B-Spec as your driver just couldn't use it to beat the other cars.

+100 to this! That 787B is just nasty :scared: It's one of my favorite cars in the game.

What on Earth is wrong with today's Gran Turismo fans?

:ouch:

Only Forumla car worth getting is the FGT the Ferraris are pretty near useless. If your collecting a bunch of cars and would have bought it eventually then you just saved yourself 10 million.

You can't use the F1 Ferraris in anything but seasonals, online, and arcade. No a spec or b spec.

I have all but one of the current OCD cars and the Esperante was the last one I bought. I only bought it because people tell me it's extremely fast in a straight line. I have seen it used in a-spec and b-spec closing on my car on the straights, only to be seen losing ground in the corners.

I bought the Ferrari F10 early on and found out then that I couldn't drive it in any other competition other than special Ferrari events.

The GT 40 is a good car for historics if you want to have fun. But if you want to win you need the Toyota 7 or the Chaparel 2J tuned.

yeahh... i grinded for quite a while , i bought the mazda 787b (my faverouite race car) and the bentley spped 8 anyways. they;re amazing!

I picked up a Bentley Speed 8 too. With the current 1/2 price I couldn't resist.

It's a great car, looks awesome, drives great. I got a Peugeot HDI FAP 2010 that can lap Sarthe quicker but the Speed 8 is such an pleasure to drive, I'd pick it over the Peugeot if I was doing a long stint.

As to the OP, there's a number of ways that you could have checked if the GT40 is a prize car. ( That sounds like: Captain Hindsight to the rescue!! ) But yeah.

The Ford GT LM Test Car Spec II in the Dealership (under Gran Turismo) is the fastest Ford GT in the game. It only costs $3.4 million if memory serves me, and has a full CF body. Depending on what groups you usually race with online you could've done much better. In short: yes, you did waste the money if you don't plan on collecting every car in the game.

By the way, the old "American cars are incapable of turning" notion has become quite old. To recap: the Ford GT and a couple versions of the Chevrolet Corvette are usually what the winners are driving in production car races online.

The American cars cant turn REALLY doesnt stand up. Can you win Le Mans 20+ times in a car that doesnt turn? Look at all the Ford GT's. all the Corvettes...
