Did I mod the wrong EVO?

I won the evo IV in the first am series and modded it up with just short of everything.. (didnt put on the biggest turbo) and won the beginner evo series very easily. So I went over to the AM evo series and the cars are passing me on the straights like I'm not even moving..

Did I just waste a bunch of $$ on this thing or can I beef it up and still contend in AM? Is it good for any other races?

Thanks,...

There's another thread initiated by spell-checking-freak mosthaunted1 discussing this car's performance. It's pointless to me. The Evo is definitely a car worth upgrading and that can keep up with a lot of other cars.

Of course you should keep on tuning yours until you crunch the Evo competition...

Hmm.. looks like I will have to get back in my trusty skyline and kick some am a$$ for some spending cabbage.

Just another quick question, ... I put the mid soft (t5 I think) tires on it.. what tire recomendations does anyone have for the road races on an evo?

I actually never bothered much with tires considerations. All through the game I put the T5 as soon as I had the required 22,000+ credits. They are a good compromise anyway and work much efficiently than the standard ones.

my opinion is
sell your Skyline as they either handle like bricks or are as twitchy as hell. with the money you set from that buy a EVO 7 RS (lightweight) then buy the biggest turbo (45k i think) then all the usual i.e suspension gearbox exhaust etc, then no one will pass you in the AM league, i havnt tried the Pro league, if you need to know some settings ill give you mine it handles well with medium slicks on!!

My skyline is my money maker! Has everything bolted to it that can be. I used it for the first am series (japanese) and finished every race with every other car at least 2 inches behind me on the map.. Also won the am turbo and have one more to go for the am stars and stripes.. No way I could sell that car.. Considering how much I've put into it, I don't think it would be worth the sale price anyway..

Is the evo 7 going to way outperform the 6?

Thanks

Well, I wouldn't sell the car... bad idea in my opinion. You only get a minimal amount for the car when selling and that's compared to the buying price, not the total price after modifications.

What I would do in your shoes?

I would stick a larger turbo on your current evo4. That will probably max out the car on both power and handling. However, the evo4 should be able to run with atleast 400hp on an 1100kg weight. That would create a 2.75pwr and more than likely give you the power to run all of the road car amatuer races (that the evo will be eligable for).

You may even be able to run the race car series, but at 2.75, you may have a hard time competing with the 2.3 jgtc cars.

Go take on some stock rally cars in one of the ama series. The rally cars start at around 3.2pwr and would be much easier competition for you.

Good luck, have fun, keep us posted. ;)
Later. :D

I wore out my Skyline with a lot of miles and I started losing horsepower. It's my moneymake so I just saved and built up a new one. Only to 600HP though. It handles better with stage 3 turbo...
