Me and a friend of mine are doing a new gt-experiment...
Normally when you buy a car you immediatly start driving it and giving full throtlle.
Now we thought... what if you do it like in a real car... first break in the engine with no full throttle and no high revving and slowly growing revs and power while the mileage grows.
Our first test came out positive!
A suzuki Alto with no break-in ( both cars oiled at start) was 0.7seconds slower at the 1000m sprint than the Alto with 150km break-in!
Real racers know what 0.7seconds is... quite alot!
We know that after a while your car will gain bhp because of the mileage but the Alto was only 1 bhp more... can't make a difference of .7 seconds eh?
So far we are running in a brand new Honda NSX. We'll see what that gives.
Anyone has already done this or has any experience with it??
