Difference between Replay and Ghost Replay?

Hey you guys, I'm new here, just thought I'd check in and say wasup! I'm kinda new to GT as I only have GT5 Prologue but have pre-ordered GT5! Anyways, this is just a random questions and something I was curious about, but what's the difference between "Save Replay" and "Save Ghost Replay"? Don't they basically do the same thing...?

Save replay saves all the laps you did in the previous session. Save Ghost replay just saves the fastest lap so that you can load it back up at a later date and race against it.
