I got an idea...it would be much cooler if the admin could make a special "function" for this...but anyway, i thought that it maby would have been a little cool to have certain clubs (here on the forum) to be members of...for example: Japanese Supercar Club, where the japanese supercar fans are members, The German Sedan Club etc etc.
with maybe special forums for the certain clubs, and so on,

this is just an idea i got, so if its just plain stupid please tell me, if not, then good, cuz it would love to see it happen...

There are dozens of them. Two even have their own boards because they had large and active followings: MAZ and the Nissan club. Look on the Automotive forum.

Mostly the clubs just end up as a line in a few people's signatures, and nothing more. But try searching for any of your subject terms, limiting the search to thread titles, and see if a club already exists on the car(s) in question.

*Remembers the insane number of car clubs from mid-2002*

This was originally posted in the GT4 forum, but I moved it here.

I was just going to say no, but I thought I'd better move it here.

for example: Japanese Supercar Club, where the japanese supercar fans are members.

A club with no members...

I founded the Crappy Car Club.... come join!

Then where do you fit crossbreeds?

Ford GT40 - paid for by Americans, built in the UK. Ford GT - paid for and built by Americans, chassis built by Roush, in the UK.

Or more complex ones like the Vauxhall Monaro - paid for by Americans, made in Australia and rebadged for the UK?

All car manufacturers can be traced by a money trail to Japan, the USA, Germany and France - with a couple of little pockets in the UK.

Chevrolet Optra... engineered in Korea, with European-tuned suspension and bodywork, made by a Korean company in a Korean factory, financed by GM and sold under an American nameplate that had nothing to do with creating the car.

My Ford... designed in Japan as a Japanese car, and sold as an American model everywhere except the US and Japan, where it's sold as a Mazda.

You guys always try and make things difficult. Like say the daewoo/chevrolet. Now got an american owned badge on it so it can go under american cars. simple as.

Despite being built in Korea?

As I said earlier, the paper trail leads to one of four countries only.

Nissan? Japanese, right? Nope, French. Saab? American, not Swedish. Volvo? Same again. Bugatti? Not French, nor even Italian, but German. Holden? American. Mazda? American.

It's never "simple as". By your definitions ("xxx-owned badge"), Nissan and Bugatti would be European and Holden, Mazda, Saab and Volvo would be American.

Your trying to make it difficult again and twisting what I said in some order to try and be funny and amusing. I think 8 out of 10 people on this site all already know that renault owns nissan etc.

Lets just sort it like it is done on GT4.

No twisting is necessary - your words are there in, literally, black and (a kind of off-) white for anyone to read. I haven't changed them in any way.

Sort it like it's done in GT4? You mean by having a Japanese manufacturer rebadged for non-Japanese markets (Toyota -> Lexus; Honda -> Acura) have their dealership in the US area, but their series race (in the case of Lexus) in the Japan area? Or have the Ford US garage stuffed full of Ford Europe cars?

I'm really not too interested in creating something like this, so I don't think any further discussion is necessary.
