So, I got the digital version of the game, downloaded all the updates, installed them (both out in the download screen and in the in-game update installer). Started game, it tells me I have an update to download. Is this redundant? Am I downloading stuff I have already got?
 
No, it's not being redundant. In GT6 there are a few phases of an update.

1. Download all the updates. (It's like any other game update download.)
2. Install. (Again, like other games.)
3. In-game install. (We have no clue why the game needs to do this since GT5 did not.)
4. In-game update. (These are usually small and will only take a couple of seconds to a few minutes. They usually include a bug fix or two. Commonly called Ninja fix, Ninja patch, Hotfix, etc.)
