so i havent really been playing on my ps3 that month for pass 2months only dirt3 really so got a bit of free time today and went on gt5 for a bit off drifting and goddammit i sucked felt like i was playing for first time again lol (steering felt so light and was just spinning) so just wondering this happened to any1 else?

I went through this a few weeks ago after popping GT5 back in. It took a few races to get the feel back again.

I then tried Dirt 3 after not playing it for a few weeks and I was hitting every wall, LOL. It is weird how each game makes you appreciate the other, well for me at least.

I had to buy a variety of cars in GT5 to get the feel back. Compacts, super, race cars. DiRT3 really messed me up. They're both fun game 'till the end though. Just very different physics wise.

I left Dirt 3 after a couple of hours of gameplay because of that. I think that messing with other racing games is quite like playing other racquet sports while you're trying to improve your tennis. If you don't take it very seriously it's fine, but if you mind, better keep focused on one thing at a time.

Just a small tip, watch the grammar, spelling, and slang or you'll get a talking to from a mod.

On topic however yeah Dirt really screws with my driving abilities in other games too, or after playing GT or Iracing I can't drive in Dirt...

GT5 and Dirt 3 have their own style and challenges. I have placed in the top 50 on the world boards for dirt driving in both games and like them both and wish there were more interest in the off road games.

This happend to me today haha but ive only had a short break off gt5 the wheel did feel really loose but ffb on dirt 3 isnt really that good and no 900 degree rotation.

Don't know if different between wheel or DS3, but certainly takes me a couple of races to get back into the style of each once I return. GT5 feels so slow compared to everything else, so you brake far too late and fly straight into every barrier! you then play DiRT 3 and suddenly you are flying again, so relying heavily on the brake... think its going well until you place last. Finally start flinging the car about again. Then you go to F1 2010, fling it into the first corner and.. well not a lot! Doesn't react to that kind of driving, F1 2010 takes me the longest to adjust back to since it requires such an accurate touch to be consistently fast, really requires some precise analogue stick inputs!

one thechnique i found out to work pretty well so i don't mess up my driving is to use different button configurations for every game i play and i think really helps, because i used to change every button configuration to GT style and that seemed to ruin my skills.. so i decided to start using different configs keeping only the the ''emergency'' buttons in the same place like the hand break always on O and/or R1 because that's something we need to use a ''lot'' and without flinching.. i guess using using different configurations just keeps the games separated in my brain lol i'm affraid i'll run out of reasonable configurations soon though :nervous: with wheels it's the exact opposite, i just try to make different games feel as much alike as possible..
