I'm posting this thread as a question, rather than jumping to conclusions, hopefully there's someone out there who's used this game, on this platform, with this controller.

Load the game up, it has my DFGT settings, but somehow I manage to bring up a menu in the controls settings, and it shows keyboard and G27, pick G27, all the presets load fine. The advaned settings have been reset, but that's ok, my DFGT settings are unlikely to apply here.

Go to do a simple time trial, first few seconds is ok, then suddenly the wheel starts rumbling violently, and the FFB resists hugely, whenever you try to overpower it, you crash.

Anyway, I paused and tried adjusting settings a couple of times, but nothing helped, and was wondering if this is just a config issue, or if it is truely a deeper software/hardware issue (I think this unlikely, but you never know).

If anyone has any good settings that work for them, that'd be great

I had something similar in F1 2011 but my Dirt 3 installation was fine. Do these things:

Turn V-Sync on.
Choose a custom profile rather than G2x, set the device type override to steering wheel, set up all the controls. It should be ok after that.

I've read that F1 2011 (and therefore Dirt 3 as they're the same engine) has bugs in the G2x profiles, and if the frame rate is too high the feedback goes crazy. Is it like the wheel pushes all the way to one side and won't let go until you stop, at which point you lose all feedback? That's what I had. You can check the F1 2011 Steam forum, I posted a thread there and there were a good few replies offering advice but it was the V-Sync one that did it for me.

Hope that helps!
