How long does a 4 stroke last compared to a 2 stroke? I have heard 30 hrs if you're racing for a new top end, up to 150 if you ride casually for 2 strokes. On 4 strokes...I heard there's less maintenance, but when it breaks then prepare yourself. So how many hours for top end, bottom end? Thanks
It depends, what type of dirtbike? Trail bikes need only regular maintenance, you don't have to replace pistons or anything. If the bike is old or has been ridden a lot, then setting the valves and stuff like that would be preferred. If you are racing at a high level, then you will have to stick to a strict maintenance schedule, every few races or so. It shouldn't really matter whether a trail bike is 2 or 4 stroke. They are so reliable that it is not a big issue, XRs are practically bulletproof.
