Dirt Rallying!

I simply can't do the dirt section of the final part of the GT rally special.

I have golded the snow and tarmac, but the dirt I'm nowhere near.

I've done all of the other special events, and almost completed the extreme events in A-Spec, but for some reason I'm not even close to bronzing the dirt section of this rally.

I'm getting extremely frustrated as its 8 stages long, you basically can't afford a mistake on a single stage and you have to go through it all again if you do. I can only seem to keep out of the barriers on a dirt rally by going so slow that I was nowhere near bronze.

I did manage to do the Sebastien Loeb event, but I don't see how I'm ever going to complete the GT rally.

Any tips for dirt driving? It just feels so different to everything else and I'm obviously doing it wrong!
 
Aside from moving TC, actually shutting ABS off will really help shorten your braking distances. You will have to modulate the brakes yourself, but even with a DS3 controller it's doable... and your times should come down appreciably too.
 
Try adjusting the centre diff to a 40/60 front/rear torque split.... stops the car oversteering so much and allows you to get on the power much harder exiting the corners.
 
What car are you using? I would say I'm significantly worse at rally than the other forms of racing in the game but I easily won this using the Lancia Delta S4 rally car.
 
Try not to do too much unnecessary drifting by breaking early. Also, do not go full throttle until your wheels are straight. I used the car won from the Sebastien Loeb event.
 
Are you using a wheel or pad?
I was used to using a pad on the Dirt series and using a wheel on here is very different. Watch some on-boards on WRC site and might help you see wheel movement as well.
 
Totally and utterly demoralised by this now.

I can't stand the dirt rallying and wish it wasn't in the game, I can't face turning it on because of it.

Soooooo annoying that its an 8 stage rally so takes so long for the eventual failure.

Every other event in the game up to extreme I can do no problem, this dirt rallying its like watching a 2 year old try to do it, not even close.
 
Don´t know, in what perspective you drive. But for me, the hood cam is the best for controlling the car (even better than cockpit).

You can feel (and see) what the car do while controlling it. Dirt Rally is hard...hardest on Eiger Nordwand.

But the dirt rallys in special events were quite simple.
