I seem to be one of the comparatively few people who enjoyed the dirt tracks in GT Sport, but I am so disappointed at the way the races have been changed in GT7.
I've just completed the dirt track menu card and didn't enjoy the two dirt track races at all. The dust thrown up by the other cars at times obliterated the screen completely and, although I know the tracks inside out, I bumped into the walls and fences several times simply because I couldn't see the track.
It is slightly better when using other views but I have played using what I refer to as the 'full screen' view for 25 years, so I'm reluctant to change now.
Is it just me, or do any other dirt track fans think the dust is unnecessarily dusty??

I think you’d hate to drive behind this guy in real life.

I absolutely love the high dust particle build up that's now in GT7, as it is in real life.

This really just brings up the point that GT needs to do proper rally, with long point-to-point time attack tracks instead of making weird dirt circuit racing with multiple cars.

I haven't driven the dirt tracks myself yet, but that's kind of what dust is like.. dusty.
If you watch the WRC, the thick dirt stays floating in the air for several minutes after the car has passed.

Understandably it makes racing much more difficult, but I'd imagine that would be part of the fun :)

I did the Pick Up race in the Raptor at Colorado and it felt like at Stadium Truck race. This made much more sense to me than rally.

I thought the concrete tape straight out of 1997 would be more of a disappointment.

Which GT7 dirt racing is nothing like, so irrelevant. WRC is P2P with large gaps between each car so that the dust isn't an issue.

GT7 is more like rallycross on a closed circuit and they race on compact dirt, not loose gravel, for this very reason. You still get a bit of dirt and dust kicking up, but nothing like that.

Rally in Gran Turismo has always been terrible, and it feels like it is there to tick a box. It is something I do the minimum of.

Having huge dust behind the car now is now realistic so I don't have an issue with it.

That's another problem. If you look in front, sometimes there's nothing but dust, but if you look in the rear view mirror you don't seem to be creating any dust at all!

Dirt racing or ”rallying” in GT is a joke, period. It’s perhaps worse in GT7 than ever, but it’s always been bad. The landings in GT7 is especially hilarious… and frustrating.

The jumps are definitely odd, but the corner control is fairly consistent, and grip feels about right up and until exit, then it comes on too strong.

I like the fact you can pitch the car in to get the desired attitude and stay away from the handbrake, much more natural for me. That is for me though.
