i'm on a team on gt6 and we race other teams in dirty nascar on random tracks, several players on this 1 team seem to be impossible to wreck, no matter how hard you hit them they recover way to quickly, you perform the perfect PIT maneuver and they just drive away while you spin all over the place. They claim its their setup but we believe they use lag switches or just out right hack. My question is if there actually is a hack of some sort.

It's a possibility. I haven't messed around with hacking/hybrids in GT6, but back in GT5, we could take control of a wide array of aspects.

There was a simple and basic grip multiplier. If you increased this number, the car would stick to the road like glue.

You could also do things like add unrealistic levels of downforce, and either increase or decrease the weight of a car (basically from 0lbs to infinity).

That said, it could be possible to tune a car within the "legal" limits of the game. My first two guesses would be that they are running absolutely maximum weight, and that they are running +1.00 rear toe (possibly the same on the front as well).

Extremely stiff dampers would probably help with stability in that type of racing as well. That's a complete guess on my part though:

But can they make it so it doesn't show up on the settings screen, we always have it setup with no assists, everything restricted so if they tried to use asm or put too much weight we would tell them but they can always meet the room conditions

Yes I suppose hacking to increase the weight would show up on the settings screen, I forgot about that :dopey:

Other than that though, (aside from hacking to increase HP), there really isn't a way to tell if a car is hacked or not.

....

Actually maybe scratch that....someone correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't PD made it so that hacked cars are reset if you start the Race?

So if you guys are actually doing a race, as opposed to just running laps in practice / free run, then there should be no way of have a hacked car in a race.

Ya, if I had to guess, I'd say they probably are not hacked cars, but rather just use a very odd setup. Again, my guess is that it has something to do with the Toe angle and the dampers. Running a very high Initial Torque on the diff would probably help stabilize the car as well.

What about a lag switch

Never heard of that before, no idea what it is...
It allows you to disrupt Internet connection for a short time Google it you'll find it interesting

Lag would only make the car jitter around like crazy, not still as a rock, so I don't think that's the case.

If that were the case, the cars would roll onto the wall like the driver is not there at Daytona for a few seconds, then teleport back to place where they should be. The netcode in GT6 doesn't freeze the players like it does in other games like Call of Duty.
