Disc read error????HELP

I`m glad to be back and sorry to get off the subject.Does anyone have any info on fixing the disc read error on my ps2?I`ve cleaned discs and resurfaced discs and still some will not play.Some will if i keep trying but gt3 won`t at all.I even bought a new copy and it still won`t work.Some games work every time.Please help i`m going crazy without my gt3.

tell me something when it tries to load games or does loiad a game does it make a strange noise...a sort of hum?

Try bringing your PS2 to Sony for a repair, if you still have the warranty. Ask them to replace the laser unit in your PS2.

Or, if you'r crazy enough, try cleaning your PS2 lense by yourself using light alcohol with water or something... try doing a search, I'm not sure what you have to use.

WARNING ! DOING THIS WILL IMMEDIATELY VOID YOUR WARRANTY FOR THE PS2. Personally I wouldn't do that, my PS2 is my life. I can't afford to screw up.

I had the same problem; mine was under extended warranty so I got a new one. It's probably just a dusty. But it could be the laser.

Check that out it should help. But if it is under warranty don't open the PS2; bring it back to where you bought it they should fix it or replace it for free.

this is happening to tons of people go to the store and get a dvd cleaner cd. it will clean the lence of ur ps2 and u might have to take it apart and clean it this happend to my friend and he did that and it works like new now

I`ve had my ps2 for 2 years so i have had it apart.I didn`t touch anything though.Just blew it out.I`m gonna try to clean the lens with alcahol.I hope that works.If not i`m going to try adjusting the laser.Thanks everybody.

Hey i got it! I took it apart and rubbed the lens with a cotton swab and alcohol.It`s fixed!Thanks,now i can race again.

see i always new the teachers were wrong when they said alcohol was bad
