Guys I keep getting disconnected from lobbys maybe once or twice a session, now this only happens on GT6 on no other games do I have this problem be it ps3 ps4 or xbox 360 .

Ive cleaned my cache and turned all race music off but this has made no odds , ive spoken to a few friends that play GT6 and all say yes it happens to them also , my question is why does this happen and is there anything I can do ingame to prevent it ?

Now I know its not a fault of my Internet as like I've said no other game on any of our 3 consoles have this issue its only GT6.

I've been disconnected a few times, the most annoying part is that if I am hosting the lobby I can't get back in and have to create a new one. This is fairly common place in online gaming I think. I know I have played Forza 2,3,4 and have been disconnected several times, I've even had it split into more than one race where one or more person that was in the race would be moved into a different lobby during the race, sometimes just one person sometimes more than one and other times one or more people would get disconnected for no apparent reason.

I also see the occasional disconnect from Xbox Live and get bumped from party chat quite often, sometimes it auto reconnects and other times not. My network is rock solid, never have any problems with anything other than the consoles and even then aside from the party thing it is not often enough to be a concern.

If you are getting disconnect a lot then I would check into the connections, wireless can be an issue, my buddy has his set up wirelessly and it disconnects when he answers his phone.

Cheers HBR im going to hard wire tonight and give it another go , as I think you might be right regarding wifi , strange thing is I only ever get this problem in GT no other games.

I've gotten two d/c's within a few mins and it has nothing to do with my connection. The first disconnect even said that I needed to accept the new terms and conditions, but gave me no option too...

I haven't had any problems with any game up until GT6. I got disconnected for the first time last thursday in a racing series :banghead: and then it happened again the next day, and it's happened again since then. I'm not wired up but I shouldn't have to be because all other games are fine. Just another PD cock-up I think, there's nothing wrong my end.

PD's online infrastructure isn't the best, which was made evident by playing GT5 for nearly 3 years.

Yeah, was going to start a thread similar Friday but had to leave the desktop... Anyways, I've seen a total of four (five but it's a random) messages pop up when I've been disc..
You have been disconnected from the lobby
Disconnected from the lobby
Disconnected from the media server
Disconnected from PSN

Generally it's the media server one, but I've never had this issue with any other game, nor have I seen this message occur with any other game...

I've had this happen since GT5. If there are more than six people in a room, or a bunch of people on mics, it overloads my bandwidth and kicks me out of the room.

Well glad I'm not the only one having this problem.

And that's another crap reason why I can't stand GT online... Never had I ever played a game till GT5 where only four people could hold a mic in a 12 man room... We literally had to type mic please in the damn chat box..

If you use WiFi now, use wired LAN. ;)
What he said. I've had to set up port forwarding on my router to improve my NAT type too. There's lots of things that contribute to a crap connection with the server, we have a race series every weekend where people drop out of... The best thing you can do is improve your connection as much as you can then let fate take it course. Generally a room full of experienced hands wont have the issues than a public room.
