KANSEI-Chapter 1, A New Friend
Hakone Touge, 11:43 PM

A voice is heard among the crowds.

“Oh man! I can’t believe we’re actually going to see him!”

“Yeah, me too! “

“I see them! They’re coming!”

A White Mazda RX-7 racing alongside a Millenium Jade Nissan Skyline R34, both cars tackle each corner at breakneck speed.

“Your Rotary is no match for the mighty Godzilla!”

“Heh, I wouldn’t say that if I were you, after this turn is a long straight.”

Both drivers make the turn, and approach the long straight.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7517823620/

“Time to make my move!”

“Ha! It’s a full straight! You’ll never catch me!”

As both drivers push their cars to their maximum capacity, the RX-7 starts to gain on the R34.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7517829014/

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7517828754/

“Huh? What’s going on? Am I at my maximum speed already? No worries, we’re already approaching the next turn”

Suddenly, without paying attention, the RX-7 overtakes on the inside.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7517828570/

“****! How did he pass me?!

“What’s wrong? Too much understeer? Haha!”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7517828396/

“What is he doing?! Is he drifting?!”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7517828270/

“Eat my dust! Whoops, I meant, EAT MY SMOKE!”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7517828084/

“Stop playing around! You left the inside open. Wrong move.”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7517827896/

The R34 takes the inside and zooms past the RX-7.

“Alright, enough games. Time to get serious.”

The RX-7 driver releases the throttle in order to stop his drift, and attempt to chase the R34.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7517827702/

“You won’t catch me! I’m too far ahead! I can barely see you in my rear view mirror! I’m gonna put an end to your winning streak!”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7517827496/

What the R34 driver doesn’t know is that the RX-7 driver has turned off his headlights. This would be considered as a really dangerous move.

*AUTHORS NOTE: I know the headlights aren't really turned off. Just imagine they are. Okay? lol.*

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7517827094/

I remember reading a comic about mountain racing. The main character would use this trick in order to confuse the leading car.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7517827384/

“**** it! Where is he? Did he go off track and crash?”

The R34 driver decides to ease of the throttle a bit, still feeling uneasy; he hears a really loud exhaust note.

“Where is that noise coming from? It sounds really... Oh no! I can hear him but I can’t see him! What’s going on here?!”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7517826898/

He notices a pair of tail lights ahead of him. Knowing he lost the race, he starts to think about what just happened.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7517826714/

“I don’t understand, what just happened back there?”

A few moments later after the race, they both meet at a parking lot.

“Hey, you did great back there.”

“Thanks, you too. Oh, I’m sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I am Shiro Watanabe.

“I’m Daisuke Takayama”.

Shiro goes near a soda machine, and gets a drink.

“You want something to drink?”

“No thanks.”

”Suit yourself.”

As Shiro starts to sip on his soda, Daisuke speaks up.

“Oh, I forgot to ask you something. It’s about the race back there. I don’t quite understand how you overtook me, just before the finish line. I could hear the sound of your car, but I couldn’t see it. Please tell me.”

As Shiro listens to Daisuke, he stops drinking his soda and pauses for a while.

“It’s really simple, actually. I just turned off my headlights.

“What?? Are you crazy?”

“A lot of people say that. But I wouldn’t agree with them calling me crazy.”

“You’re not worried that you might crash? Or worse”

“Not really, I already memorized the track. Let me tell you a story. You might wanna take a seat.”

Daisuke sits on the hood of his R34, as for Shiro, he sits on his FD.

“When I was young, my father would take me to that very place, where we just raced. He would show me all kinds of techniques, such as heel-toe shifting, and left foot braking. He even taught me how to drift in his Nissan”

Without letting Shiro finish his story, Daisuke interrupts.

“What kind of Nissan?”

“I think it was a 180SX”

“So, where’s your father now?”

Upon hearing that question, Shiro looks down on the ground, and says:

“He’s... Gone”

END OF CHAPTER 1

Well, that's chapter 1 for now. Thanks for reading!

Hmmmmm....

Adding pictures would definitely help.

I like the chapter.

If you want to imitate Hakone Touge for your pics in GT5, you can have Mt. Aso or Eiger Nordwand as your setting.

Thanks for reading, guys. I really appreciate it!

And Chapter 2 and 3 is done. So expect me to post up images for chapter 1 and upload chapter 2 by Sunday.

KANSEI-Chapter 2, Trip to Akagi

As Daisuke hears this, he starts feeling guilty about asking that question.

“I’m sorry for asking. I didn’t know.”

“It’s alright.”

“Hey, you wanna go with me to Mt. Akagi tomorrow?”

“Sure, what for?”

“My buddies and I are going racing”

“Sounds good, although I don’t think I can bring my FD.”

“Why?”

“I just don’t feel like driving it.”

“I see. Don’t worry about it. I’ll send you a car, and I'll drop it off at your place. By the way, where do you live?”

Shiro gets a piece of paper from his FD’s glove box and writes his number and address on it.

“Here.”

“Cool, I’ll send you the car tomorrow morning. We’re heading to Akagi at around 10 AM anyway.”

“Alright man. I’ll see you later.”

Both Shiro and Daisuke get in their cars and head home.

Later, Shiro arrives home. As he gets inside, he sees a picture of a young version of him with his dad, along with a 180SX in the background.

“I miss you... dad.”

The next morning, Shiro wakes up from bed. He gets up and makes himself some breakfast. After eating, he looks outside his window. He sees the car that Daisuke has dropped off.

“Hmm.”

He goes outside to take a closer look at the car.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7517826510/

“An S13, nice.”

He sees a note attatched to the windshield wipers, which says:
“The Key’s are taped to the spoiler. Don’t forget, we’re leaving at 10:00 AM. Take care of the car.”

Shiro approaches the rear of of the S13, in order to remove the keys which are duct taped to the spoiler.

“Why would he duct tape the keys to the spoiler?”

As he attempts to remove the duct tape, he checks his watch.

“9:50 already? Arrgghh! Why won’t this tape come off?!”

After a few attempts, Shiro finally removes the tape. He grabs the keys, starts up the car and leaves the driveway.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7517826212/

A few minutes later, Shiro gets on the expressway.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7517825990/

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7517825772/

He sees a pack of tuned cars. He notices an AE86, an FC RX7, and an S15. He immediately spots Daisuke in the S15.
He floors the pedal and catches up with the pack.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7517829428/

Daisuke notices the S13 in his rear view mirror. He picks up a walkie talkie and speaks up.

“Hey guys! Shiro’s here!”

“That’s your friend?.”

“Yup! He’s the one that beat me on Hakone just last night!”

“It’s no surprise why he beat you. You suck when it comes to racing in Hakone.”

“Whatever man. I beat you twice, don’t you remember?”

“I was just kidding man!”

The pack of cars later arrive at Mt. Akagi.

“Alright you guys, get out there and have fun!”

“Wait, aren’t you coming?”

“I’ll catch up in a while, for the meantime. Why don’t you go with Kenji?”

“Come on Kai! First to the bottom wins!”

“You’re on!”

As Kenji and Kai race down the mountain road, Daisuke approaches Shiro. Who seems to have fallen asleep.
Daisuke knocks on the S13’s window.

“Shiro! Wake up!”

Being bothered by sound of constant knocking. Shiro finally wakes up.

“Huh? Oh, it’s you. What’s up?”

“You were asleep for at least 30 minutes. It’s almost 8’o clock! Let’s go race down the mountain.”

“Alright, alright.”

As the two cars line up, rain suddenly pours down from the sky. At the same time, both Kenji and Kai arrive back at the top. Only to see that Shiro and Daisuke are about to race.

“Do you guys really wanna do this? It’s way too dangerous!”

“It’s no problem, really. Right, Shiro?”

“Yeah.”

“Can we come along?”

“Sure!”

The pack of cars do a rolling start. As they approach the first corner, it turns into an all-out battle.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7517825576/

Just as they approach the first turn, Shiro and Daisuke blast off. Leaving Kai and Kenji behind.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7517829626/

“Gone, already?”

“We were no match for them. We already knew that from the start.”

“I guess that means we’re out of the race.”

“I’m afraid so.”

Meanwhile...
Daisuke struggles to keep up with Shiro’s S13. Shiro creates a gap after every turn.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7517825314/

“Damn! How does he drive this fast in the rain!? He's drifting each and every corner, yet he's still faster than me?!”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7517824608/

Daisuke picks up the walkie talkie and talks to Shiro.

“Dude! You’re way too fast!”

“Okay, whatever you say.”

“****! Something just passed me!”

“What was it?”

“I don’t know, but it’s really fast. You gotta watch out for it!”

“I got this.”

END OF CHAPTER 2

KANSEI-Chapter 3, Mystery

Shiro slowly releases the accelerator. As Shiro takes a look at his rear view mirror, he sees a car with pop up headlights. As he prepares to step on the clutch, the mysterious car zooms passed Shiro. He attempts to chase it down. As he shifts into the next gear, he floors the accelerator.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524138072/

Shiro: “A 180SX... It has the same colour, same wheels. But something’s different. It has a GT Wing.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524137554/

“Arrgh! Why?! Why does it have to resemble dad’s car!?”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524137740/

“Enough! It’s time to get serious!”
“Let’s go S13!”

"This racer has absolute skill. Drifting each and every corner flawlessly.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524137390/

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524137228/

Shiro pushes the car to its absolute limit. But just after the 17th turn, the 180SX has already left the S13 in the fog. Shiro sheds a tear, since the 180SX has reminded him so much of his father.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524137044/

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524136660/

With Shiro realizing he lost for the first time. He gladly accepts defeat, then meets up with Daisuke.

Daisuke: “So, how’d the race go?”

Shiro: “I... lost. The 180 was too fast for me...”

Daisuke: “180SX?”

Shiro: “I’m going home.”

Daisuke: “Alright. I’ll see you tomorrow?”

Shiro: “I don’t know.”

After their conversation, Shiro gets on the expressway and heads back home. He gets back at around 11 PM. After parking the S13 in the driveway, he sees the FD is still there, safe and sound.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524142466/

But he notices that his garage door was left slightly opened.
In a state of panic, he immediately gets out of the car and rushes to the garage door. As he opens it, he experiences the biggest shock of his life.

In front of him, is his father’s 180SX.

Shiro: “I... I can’t believe it.”

He sees the keys hanging on a hook on the wall. He grabs them, and then unlocks the door. As he gets in, he slowly starts shedding tears of joy.

Shiro: “He’s... not dead after all...”

After staying in the 180SX for quite some time, he finally gets back in his house and goes to sleep.

The next day...

Shiro gets up from bed. He goes downstairs to make himself some breakfast. He finishes his food, and then gets dressed.

Shiro: “Alright, time to test out the 180.”

He grabs the keys and then gets in the car.
After getting in the car, he starts it up then leaves the driveway. Shiro decided it would be best to head for Hakone, where his dad would always show him some great drift techniques.

Later, he arrives at Mount Hakone. He doesn’t realise that Daisuke is there along with his friends.

Kai: “Hey, Kenji.”

Kenji: “Yeah, Kai?”

Kai: “Did you hear about what happened last night?”

Kenji: “That battle with Shiro and the Blue 180SX?”

Kai: “Yeah.”

Daisuke: “Guys, please stop talking about it. We don’t want Shiro’s first loss to spread, do we?”

Kenji and Kai: “No...”

Daisuke: “Well, I don’t either!”

Kenji: “Hey guys! There’s something coming our way!”

Daisuke: “Hey, you’re right! It looks familiar... *gasp* It’s the 180SX from last night!”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524247732/
Kai: “It... looks amazing!”

Just before approaching the first turn, the 180SX gets in a high speed drift.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524266456/

All 3 of them: “Ahh!”
Kenji: “Hey, isn’t there a long straight after that corner?”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524265890/

Kai: “Yup.”

Daisuke: “He’s going too fast! He’s gonna crash!”

Suddenly, without stepping on the brakes. The 180 initiates a 70 degree angle entry.

Daisuke: “He’s crazy! He’s not gonna make it!”

(Shiro’s point of view.)

Shiro: “Alright, let’s see if I still got it.”
“Aaannnd here we go!”
“Haha! I still got it!”
“Next up is the long straight.”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524265552/

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524265062/

“Let’s see if I can finally mimic dads technique .Well, it’s now or never!”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524264658/

“Damn it! Only 70 degrees?”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524264212/

After sliding in such huge angle, Shiro pulls the handbrake and countersteers going the right direction.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524263816/

“I wanted to pull off 90 degrees, just like dad would always do. Sometimes, he would even go 100 degrees.”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524263404/

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524263004/

“After this turn is a short straight, I’m not gonna do anything fancy.”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524262500/

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524261574/

Even if Shiro wouldn’t do anything over the top, the crowd would still cheer.
After completing all the turns, the 180SX just left. Leaving smoke trails and tire marks behind.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524260814/

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524261270/

Kai: “What did we just see?”
Daisuke: “That my friends, was the presence of a Drift God.”

During their conversation, they overhear another bunch of guys talking about it.

Spectator: “I can’t believe we just saw the legendary 180SX!”

Spectator: “I know! I can’t get over the fact that no one can surpass his skill, in both racing and drifting.”

Daisuke decides to join their conversation

Daisuke: “What’s this legendary 180SX about?”

Spectator: “You don’t know?!”

Daisuke: “Apparently. But my friend was challenged by it last night.”

Spectator: “He’s really lucky! The legendary 180SX would never race a normal
racer; he would always go for top-class racers. But, no one has ever had the
chance to face him, those who fall victim to him would always end up crashing, since they try too hard.”

Daisuke: “I see. Well, I’m off. Nice talking to you guys.
“Damn, I should go talk to Shiro about this.”

Daisuke decides to go to Shiro’s place, along with his buddies. They ride in Kenji’s RX7 FC. Later, they arrive at Shiro’s place. They see the FD along with the S13 outside, and the garage door, locked.

Daisuke: “Kenji, this is the place.”

Kenji: “Who owns that FD?”

Daisuke: “It’s Shiro’s.”

Daisuke: “Let’s go inside.

Daisuke knocks on the door. After a few seconds, Shiro opens it.

Shiro: “Oh, hi.”

Daisuke: “May we come in?”

Shiro: “Uhh. Sure.”
“So, what brings you here?”

Daisuke: “I was gonna take the S13 back. And also, remember that 180SX? We saw it on Hakone earlier.”

Not knowing what to say, Shiro stays silent.

Daisuke: “Hey! Did you hear me?”

Shiro: “Follow me.”

All of them stand up and follow Shiro. Shiro gets out of the house and opens the garage door.
All of them go in a state of shock.

dude! how did you put 2 cars in kyoto-gion?? Is it edited?

Yup. So are all the other pictures which have 2 or more cars. I edit them, since I can't find anyone in my friends list to help me.

Hey guys, there's been a slight delay. I'll be uploading the next chapter tomorrow.

*I just realized I triple posted. Sorry.*

KANSEI-Chapter 4, Flashback

Daisuke: “I... don’t understand! Last night, you were battling it, the next thing you know, it’s right here! What’s going on?!”

“Does this mean it was you who was drifting in Hakone?”

Shiro: “Please, get back inside. I need to tell you guys something.”

As all of them get back in the house, Shiro invites them to take a seat. He starts telling a story.

Daisuke: “Your father isn’t dead?”

“What does he want you to with his car?”

“And finally, does this mean he was the legendary 180SX driver all along?”

Shiro: “Let me tell you guys something.”

“When I was a teenager, my dad was a professional racer. He would take me along with him to Fuji Speedway. He was in his doing great! Everyone was no match for him!”

_____________________________________________________________________________________
Fuji Speedway F, 2004

Announcer: “Ladies and gentlemen! Here come the racers!”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524136244/

The racers are in a rolling start. As they pass the starting line, the race turns into a battle of skill. Since all the cars have about the same power.

M3 driver: “Wha?”

Shiro’s dad: “I thought M3’s were powerful? I guess not.”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524141968/

As they approach the first corner, Shuichiro Watanabe overtakes three more cars. One of which is a Nissan Skyline R34.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524141612/

Shuichiro: “Really now? Even an R34 is no match?”

Shuichiro locks an Audi RS4 on target.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524141264/

Shuichiro: “Gotcha!”

RS4 driver: “H... How is this happening?”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524140884/

Shuichiro: “Alright. All that’s left is this Evo, and I can finally disappear.”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524140450/

Shuichiro passes the Evo and floors it on the 100R corner; he even gets in a high speed drift.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524140084/

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524139280/

Shuichiro : “We're almost there.”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524139620/

After passing the Panasonic corner 12R, Shuichiro approaches the main straight and intentionally spins out and crashes into a wall.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7524138896/

Shiro: “Dad!”

After that incident, the race was immediately called off. The paramedics have rushed to the scene of the crash. Shiro also rushes to the scene.

Shiro: “Is he gonna be okay?”

Paramedic: “We’re not sure, kid. We’re gonna have to bring him to the hospital.”
_____________________________________________________________________________________

“Ever since then, I never saw him again. The doctors told me he was alive, but they said he left. While the rest of his friends told me he died with no trace.”

“I didn’t know which story to believe. But now, I know.”

“He never died. His crash was intentional.”

“He was starting to get bored of track racing, so he faked the crash to get out of it. Then he went to touge racing and became legendary.”

“And now, he wants me to continue his legacy.”

“But before I do that, I must talk to him first.”

Daisuke: “And how are you gonna do that?”

Shiro: “Simple, we’re gonna make him show up. By beating the best of the best, in every prefecture in the Kanto region...

One. By. One.”
...

“With my father’s 180SX, Nothing can stand in my way.”

END OF CHAPTER 4

KANSEI-Chapter 5, Blue vs Blue

The next day, Shiro lies on his bed, watching TV. He sees his cellphone ringing. He picks it up and answers it.

Shiro: “Hello?”

Daisuke: “Shiro!”

Shiro: “Oh, it’s you. What’s up?”

Daisuke: “I’m going to Akagi again. Wanna come?”

Shiro: “Just as long as it doesn’t kill me. What time are we going anyway?”

Daisuke: “Awesome! We’re going at 8 AM”

Shiro: “Alright, I’ll go. I’ll pick you up in a minute.”

Later, Shiro arrives at Daisuke’s place. They get on the expressway, and notice a few eye-catching cars. One that really caught his attention was a rather nice 350Z.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7618389724/

Shiro: “Hey look! A 350Z!

Daisuke: “Oh, cool! Really weird color though. I mean it in a good way.”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7618390266/

Shiro: “Hmm... Well, something looks familiar.”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7618389998/

Daisuke: “What? You’ve seen it before?”

Shiro: “No, not that. I actually don’t know. I just have that strange feeling inside of me. It’s like I felt close to its driver.”

Daisuke: “You, and your emotions. You need some rest, man!”

Shiro: “Yeah, I guess you’re right.”

Meanwhile, on the busy streets of Tokyo. A Sonic Blue Mica Subaru is found in a garage.

Subaru owner: “So, how long before its ready?”

Mechanic: “We’ll be done in a minute. We just need to refit the exhaust and it’ll be ready.”

Subaru owner: “Good. Soon enough, I’ll be able to battle the 180SX of Hakone. Just imagine, Takahiro Kimatsu. Killer of the 180!”

Mechanic: *thinking* “*Sigh* There he goes again. I wish him the best of luck”

As a few minutes pass, the mechanic tosses the keys to Takahiro. Takahiro unlocks the door and gets inside. He asks the mechanic:

Takahiro: “Hey, this address you gave me. It’s correct, right?”

Mechanic: “I’m certain.”

Takahiro: “My goal is almost here...”

Takahiro gets in his Subaru and heads to Hakone. He later arrives at Shiro’s place, but doesn’t see any of his cars.

Takahiro: “Hmm. None of his cars are here.”

“Looks like I have to come back tomorrow.”

Just as Takahiro is about to leave, a blue 180SX approaches. Shiro gets out of his car and approaches Takahiro.

Shiro: “Can I help you?”

Takahiro: “My name is Takahiro Kimatsu, I have come here to challenge you to a battle. Here at Mt. Hakone.

Shiro: “Now?”

Takahiro: “Yes, now. Not unless you’re busy.”

Shiro: *Thinking**“It can wait.”* “Okay, you’re on.”

Takahiro: “Great, let’s go.”

Both of them get in their cars and head to Mt. Hakone.

Takahiro: “Okay, I’ve decided that we should do a cat and mouse battle. You know the rules, right? If you’re in the lead and I keep up, or overtake. I win.

Shiro: “Yeah, I got it.

Takahiro: “Alright, let’s go!”

With Shiro and his 180SX in front, Takahiro and his Subaru stay at the back. As soon as they pass the first corner, Shiro floors it, Takahiro does the same.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7614306326/

Takahiro: “You know, for a 180. He’s beyond its limits. I can’t get any closer, nor can I get any further. My 500HP engine sure has its benefits. I could say the same for his car’s lightweight body

Takahiro: “Okay, we’re approaching the next corner. Let’s see his capabilities.”

As both cars turn in, the roar of both engines could be heard among the hills, bringing life to the surroundings.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7614306870/

With the first turn gone from their rear view mirror, both drivers keep their intense focus at a maximum level. As Shiro spots a right-hand corner, he executes a heel-toe downshift technique. Takahiro is quite surprised with such line and speed.

Takahiro: “He made it seem like his car is an all-wheel drive. He’s definitely got some skills. I’m starting to regret this.”

Takahiro tries to find the best line as both cars are approaching the 6th corner. Shiro executes a high speed turn. With no sign of oversteer or understeer. Takahiro punches it as soon as they complete the turn. Takahiro’s Subaru starts to gain on the 180SX. Just as they finished the turn, Shiro starts noticing the dramatic changes in his driving.

Shiro: “That’s odd. Why didn’t the car slide?”

Still on the straightaway, Takahiro’s Subaru goes side to side with the 180.

Shiro: “****!”

Both cars approach another corner, Shiro downshifts and makes the 180 go into a 70 degree drift. Takahiro is surprised with such a sight. Shiro’s 180 gets too close to the guardrail. The 180 lightly taps the guardrail, and sparks fly around.

Takahiro: “He’s crazy! Isn’t he afraid of crashing?”

With Takahiro distracted by Shiro’s drifting, he starts losing focus. Both cars are approaching the consecutive hairpin turns. Shiro’s 180 has the overall advantage in this section. Lightly tapping the brakes, Shiro once again tackles the corners without a sign of oversteer. Takahiro being pressured, he punches the gas way too early. The Subaru’s front bumper hits the guardrail, causing a huge dent up front and scratches leading up to the right quarter panel. Shiro does a high speed drift at the final hairpin and ends up having a three second lead.

Takahiro slows down as a sign of defeat. They both meet at a nearby restaurant. Shiro takes a glance at Takahiro damaged Subaru.

Shiro: “What happened back there?”

Takahiro: “I was just feeling too much pressure. I couldn’t take it. I mashed the throttle way too early. Anyway, I would like to thank you, for giving me a good race.”

Shiro: “My pleasure.”

Takahiro: “Well, I’m off. I’ll see you soon.”

As Takahiro’s Subaru leaves Shiro in the parking lot, Shiro feels a bit hungry. He goes inside to buy some food.

END OF CHAPTER 5

*Editor's note: I'm terribly sorry for the lack of pictures. I just don't have the time to edit both cars into every picture I take. Anyone who is willing to help me out for future chapters will be very appreciated. Also, I apologize if my chapters take way too long to release. I'm quite busy with school. Thanks.*

KANSEI-Chapter 6 (first half), FD (part 1)

Shiro goes inside the restaurant. Meanwhile, on the other side of the road, is a dark parking lot, where a Gold Nissan 350Z in found. Inside is a man who looks to be in his mid 40’s. Shiro goes outside the restaurant, with a plastic bag filled with food. He gets inside his 180 and heads back home. The mysterious 350Z starts up, and follows Shiro. Later, Shiro arrives home, the 350Z tries to keep a distance from Shiro to avoid from being noticed.

350Z driver: “You still live here, huh?... I see.”

As the driver of the 350Z stares into the garage, he spots the blue 180SX, he smiles. The 350Z leaves the neighbourhood and disappears into the darkness.
Inside the house, Shiro prepares his food and eats up. Just as he is about to put some food in his mouth, the doorbell rings. Shiro sighs and gets the door. He sees its Daisuke.

Shiro: “What’s up?”

Daisuke: “I was just buying some drinks from the store next door, and noticed that your FD was gone. Did you get rid of it?”

Shiro: “Not quite.”

Daisuke: “What are you planning?”

Shiro: “I can’t tell you right now.”

Daisuke: “Damn it.”

Shiro: “Fine. Here’s a clue... Upgrades.”

Daisuke: “Eh? You’re upgrading the FD?”

Shiro: “Yes.”

Daisuke: “Does that mean your replacing the 180?”

Shiro: “... Eventually. You see, just recently. I’ve been challenged by a Subaru to a race. I won, but with luck on my side. I was actually upgrading the FD for fun. But seeing that the competition is going to be really tough, I took it as a consideration. But that doesn’t mean I won’t be racing the 180. I’m still going to continue my father’s legacy. After that, I’ll leave it as it is. I’m going to make my own reputation after that. With my FD.

Daisuke not knowing what to say decides to say goodbye and to head back home. Shiro gets back inside and eats his dinner. He goes upstairs, changes his clothes and goes to bed. The next morning, he gets up, goes downstairs and grabs some food. He goes outside, grabs his keys and starts up the 180, and leaves the driveway. He later goes to Daisuke’s place. Daisuke gets in the 180.

Daisuke: “So, where are we going?”
Shiro: “You’ll find out, soon.”

Later, Shiro and Daisuke arrive at a rather odd-looking garage. Shiro parks the 180 behind the garage. Both Shiro and Daisuke get out of the car. They open the front gate and spot some nice looking track cars. Shiro points to his left, directing Daisuke to the FD. Daisuke gasps loudly. Daisuke notices that the RX7 now has a new set of wheels and tires, a stripped out interior, and a horrible blue paint job.

Daisuke: “I have this love-hate feeling right now. I don’t know what to think of it. The interior looks seriously tuned, whereas the exterior looks way too ridiculous. Look at what they did to the paint!”

Shiro: “Relax. They just finished sanding it. And it’s far from done anyway. The engine isn’t even in yet. Shiro chuckles.

Daisuke: “How can you even afford this?”

Shiro: “I had a life before you met me.”

Both walk out of the shop and return to the 180. Shiro drops Daisuke off and gets back. Meanwhile, in Saitama Prefecture. A gray Honda S2300 tears up the track and smashes the fastest record.

Kansei-Chapter 6 (last half), Saitama

Three months later. Back in Hakone, a Millennium Jade Mines tuned R34 GT-R is seen to be drving on the entire downhill course, tackling each and every turn with very minimal error. As it approaches the straights, the magnificent sound of the mighty RB26 is heard, along with a blue RE-Amemiya RX7 chasing it from behind. Both cars take each corner at breakneck speeds, approaching the next corner, the R34 shifts down. While the RX7 executes a heel-toe downshift, maintaining its speed, it closes the gap with the R34. With the final corner in sight, the R34 overshoots the turn and understeers, giving the RX7 the space to overtake. Both cars are on the final straight, the R34 with its extra power gets closer behind the RX7. The RX7 wins with merely a second ahead of the R34. Both drivers get out of their cars, it turns out to be Shiro and Daisuke.

Daisuke: “Damn, I still need to work on the rear swaybar.”

Shiro: “Yeah, I noticed that too.”

Daisuke: “Hey, have you heard. The strongest downhill racer of Saitama is back. He drives a gray Honda S2000. But there’s no proof of him.”

Shiro: “Honda S2000? That doesn’t sound too serious.”

Daisuke: “Yeah, But then again. The unexpected could happen, right?”

Suddenly, Daisuke’s phone rings. He takes it out of his pocket and answers it.

Daisuke: “Looks like the unexpected just happened. It turns out that he isn’t driving an S2000, he drives an S2300!”

Shiro: “****. That’s the one tuned by Amuse, right?”

Daisuke: “Yup. It’s one hell of a monster”

Shiro: “We’ll see. Looks like we’re going to Saitama Prefecture.”

Daisuke doesn’t react. Instead, he just shows a smirk on his face. Both get in their cars and drive off to Saitama. Upon arriving, they notice the parking lot is filled with cars. They get out of their cars to ask what’s going on. They were approached by a man in a coat. He says that the rumoured S2300 is back. The man runs away.

Shiro: “What was that all about? He just ran all of us sudden.”

Daisuke: “I don’t know... Hey, look! That’s him! The S2300!”

Shiro: “Wow. It looks amazing!”

Shiro observes its movements as it tackles the hairpin turns. The S2300, with its incredible cornering speed manages to keep its pace through the turns; it immediately overtakes its opponent, he wins the race, and leaves.
