Poor impreza. The stupid guy behind the wheel didn't do anything either, he just kept turning to the left, that other guy was trying to turn the wheel for him.

I think the steering lock came in when he steered into that curve. Maybe he didn't have the keys in the ignition lock because he was pulled by the Discovery and therefor thought he didn't need to. I just wondered the guy in the Discovery didn't notice he was going off the street.

I think it was because the steering wheel locked. That happens when the car is off as a safety thing.

crazy i woulda thought the steering lock would be immediate on, not take its time thinkin about it suppose thats how it catches people out

It will only lock if you turn it far enough to the left - it probably never got turned enough to lock before. Then, with the cable holding the front end of the car to the right, the front wheels were just crabbing until *smacko*...
