Disqualified from race due to penalties(before race even started)

Anyone had this happen to them? Just joined an N300 race with the Audi TT, started in 8th place. Warm up trial runs out and we go to the cutscene where the cars start moving and you see the anterior perspective. Well, it started off okay then 4th place just went sideways and everyone behind him drove into the rails. Top 3 players moved a bit but then their cars all randomly drove into a rail stayed stuck there. All of this happened before the race even began. And I got a warning that I will be disqualified for penalties. Everyone was stuck and everyone got disqualified. What in the world just occurred?

Lol, I wish I had a capture card. Was really confused at first my car started crashing randomly into everyone in front of me and the guy in the front did a 180 into the rails. When I looked at the radar there were 6 arrows on chicane stuck against the rail and the front 3 players stuck on another. Thankfully it didn't seem to affect my SR rating. :D

Next time just press the share button on your controller or wheel and you can save the footage. Its super easy nowadays on PS4. You can even upload it directly to youtube.
 
I’ve noticed some tweaks things too, I’m wondering if some folks are using back door cheats and bogging the field down or screwing with controls to see what they get away with. I’ve had a few races where it was either latency issues or a hack, cars turn at random, or my own vehicle gets hit but no one is there.
