Hey guys...Has anyone watched Mail Order Wife? I saw it this weekend. It's a really disturbing documentary about some guy that buys a mail order bride. I was so shocked at the stuff that that guy puts her through. He treats her like his own personal slave. In fact, some of the scenes are so disturbing, I didn't know whether to be shocked or just laugh. It should be coming out on dvd next month. I got a free copy from my buddy who works at umvd. Hit me up guys.
 
That's pretty sad. I mean if you are one of the women, it's gotta be pretty obvious. You are marrying someone who can't find anyone to marry him for whatever reason, so he is buying a bride. :dunce: If that's not a flashing red light, I don't know what is. I just hope most of those guys aren't mistreating their wives.

Well, yeah i totally agree with you. But they're doing it for the money i guess. Cause these brides are coming from very poor countries, like the Philippines. Check out the movie when it comes out if you can. It's a real eye opener I thought.

I went from Japan to the U.S., so I can't claim to know how it is in poorer countries. However, unless I'm starving or being oppressed by the government or something, I wonder if it's really worth it.......

I will be checking it out when I get a chance. Thanks! :)

Russian buddy of mine brought in a mail order bride magazine once. I think they featured Asian and Eastern European ladies in it. We had a good laugh over that one, but now I feel kinda bad......

Was at Wal-mart and saw this on the self and wanted to see what its like. Pretty odd movie. Some of the scenes really were strange. I did want to point out that this movie looks like a documentary very well made to look like one but infact its not. They did do a very good job on it. You guys just have to check out the DVD and have the commentary on. Pretty crazy movie i thought at first. 👍
