I had hoped to race tonight but a few chores took longer than expected. Plan to race next 2 sundays. Happy to do scoring or back up.

From recent JL Bowler post in D3 June.

No friends only lobby. They use a completely different connection model than the open lobby.

Fixed host requires all room information to go to the host and then to other drivers. Non-fixed host has all drivers connected to each other.

That's the way it was in GT Sport. The manual for GT 7 does not specifically state that friends only rooms are fixed host. Being that very little was changed from Sport to 7, they might very well be. The fact that there is no host migration might also mean that all rooms are fixed host now. PD doesn't do a very good job of telling us what is really going on.

Good news: I got myself an ethernet cable this week, so hopefully I won't be lagging as much. If there is still lag, it's probably because I'm on PS4, in which case I'll have @Rob Brown host if he is able.

Were you stepping on you cable? Because, like others, I saw lag each race too.

Yeah there was some lag on my end too. I plan to have @Rob Brown host next Sunday night as I may not be able to make it that night. Presumably that will make things at least a bit more stable.

How do I find our replays? I want to compare the lag behavior of others with how my replays act. I can't tell from mine if I am lagging.

Search for replays with your PlayStation with the format 20220619D1R2R1
Thanks. However I found Tim's page and Gallery. The race replays were shared there.

In comparison, the lag was there like expected. No idea how this will be improved, but I would like to see as many network bars by ALL in the room, as possible. The weak ones should be advised and tested or asked to improve the LAN setup, ASAP. Remember, NO WIFI, or other users on your Router will help a lot!

Can confirm I won't make it Sunday night. Will be at Watkins Glen for the IMSA 6-hour race. @Rob Brown can host in my absence I assume, but someone will also have to save and upload replays. Texter is needed as well.
